I enjoyed the new Agatha Christie series on BBC1 tonight with David Walliams and the actress from The Midwife. It can be described as easy watching.

I love to see the fashions of the 1950s.

I was the same with the uncle, kitty. At first I thought he was Pike (stupid boy) from Dad's Army but then realised he was the postman from Lark Rise to Candleford. I think he also did a very funny episode of Miranda playing a therapist or something.

Best known to me as Hugo Horton(sp) in The Vicar Of Dibley.

Me too, annsixty - the lovely Alice's admirer and, eventually, husband.

I love Gloomsbury as well, it's the funniest thing on radio.

That episode of Miranda had me in tears!

merlotgran Tue 28-Jul-15 13:45:04

Oh yes! I'd forgotten how good he was as Hugo Horton.

kittylester Tue 28-Jul-15 15:59:05

But, I don't think Hugo was in Lark Rise - that was someone - it was, you know, whatsisname! grin

Ana Tue 28-Jul-15 16:16:48

You're right, kitty - Thomas Brown the postman in Lark Rise was played by Mark Heap.

merlotgran Tue 28-Jul-15 16:18:05

grin Now I'm even more confused. confused

merlotgran Tue 28-Jul-15 16:18:42

Aaaaaah. I'll go and google him.

Lona Tue 28-Jul-15 16:19:07

It was Thomas Brown who played the postman, but he did look a bit like the actor that played Hugo IMO.

Lona Tue 28-Jul-15 16:20:12

Sorry, I got that the wrong way round!! grinblushgrin

Ana Tue 28-Jul-15 16:20:52

No, Lona, Thomas Brown was the name of the postman! grin

merlotgran Tue 28-Jul-15 16:24:16

Have I managed to everyone losing the plot now? grin

NanKate Tue 28-Jul-15 17:03:26

Gloomsbury is fabulously funny, the actors are just brilliant. I have requested the cd of the 3 series for my birthday from my DS.

Tegan Tue 28-Jul-15 18:25:04

Just listened to an episode I found [not sure why I can listen to some things on the pooter but not others confused]. It's brilliant grin.
