Now this may be teaching my granny to suck eggs, but for any of you who do not have a Smart TV did you know you can sign up online by just giving your email and a password and hey presto you can watch any missed tv programmes on your computer, IPad etc?

I sit in bed with my Ipad and watch from there, very relaxing.smile

And you can download BBC TV and radio to watch/listen later. I do this for train journeys.

And I download missed programmes to my SKY+ box from the internet, which still tickles my fancy. They stay on the disk for about a month I think.

My sky+ box stopped functioning, so I cancelled my subscription. I now only have catch up TV via Roku 1. I only have a seven inch tablet and the computer is in the spare bedroom so, although I knew about downloading programmes I don't do it. I love Roku though. There are loads of streaming channels, some of them you would never want to watch!

I always watched missed programmes on my computer long before it became available on Sky or smart TVs. You don't have to sign up to all of them - CH4 requires registration, but certainly BBC iPlayer and ITV Player don't require this.
