Just watched the best supporting actress go to the mum in MARVELLOUS .

I hope Marvellous wins all the awards it was nominated for I was a huge fan.

Sarah Lancashire for best actress for me for Happy Valley.

POGS Sun 10-May-15 20:39:02

Oh bother, already told off for saying live not lie now another cock up .

POGS Sun 10-May-15 21:31:52

Well I don't care if I am all alone, Marvellous won and Happy Valley.

Well done Toby Jones and of course 'Nello'. /Neil the most wonderful character I have ever learnt to love and admire.

Now for Sarah Lancashire to win best actress

Mishap Sun 10-May-15 21:33:27

I started watching but it is so "in your face" I couldn't find the strength to keep watching! What a wimp.

Ana Sun 10-May-15 22:28:27

I was watching Home Fires (which I keep seeing as Home Fries!) on ITV. Not interested in BAFTA awards.

I like to know who won them, but never actually watch them.We were slurping a glass of wine happily and chatting, not much on tv tonight.

rosesarered Sun 10-May-15 22:39:12

Didn't 'Missing' win anything? Sarah Lancashire was so good in Happy Valley as was the whole cast.

AshTree Sun 10-May-15 22:39:27

No, me neither, Ana - we were watching The Enfield Haunting, while Home Fires was being recorded.

Disappointed that Sarah Lancashire didn`t win best actress award. Am happily awaiting the next series of Happy Valley, but how it will be able to match up to the first series I don`t know.

rubylady Mon 11-May-15 01:06:43

I think Halifax and Happy Valley are currently being written.

I watched the BAFTA's but got to second hour and started to jump ahead with the recording. The Best Actor was well deserved although in my opinion, unless you watch all in the catagory, how can you say which is best?

Ant and Dec again winning two, what a surprise, and our dear old Graham winning one too. Good, that guarantees his next series, which it isn't Friday without.

What happens to the comedians though? They are never represented with their programmes or even the ones like Have I Got News, Mock the Week, Gogglebox, or Countdown, Paul O'Grady, The Chase, Pointless, Loose Women etc. Why is it always the arty farty programmes that get nominated?

rubylady Mon 11-May-15 01:08:38

No gardening, no cookery and it was first time I saw a house programme win with Grand Designs and that is the elite of property programmes, hardly Homes Under the Hammer, is it?

ninathenana Mon 11-May-15 09:16:34

Sorry, didn't see this when I started the other thread.

Juliette Mon 11-May-15 09:22:49

.......but Marvellous won two awards, that plus Neil's speech at the end was worth sitting through the rest.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 11-May-15 09:44:00

Same as Mishap. I couldn't stand it for very long.

Jane10 Mon 11-May-15 09:48:38

Happy Valley was very gripping but I had to record it so I could fast forward the nasty cruel bits which I quite literally couldn't bear to watch. I'd watch Sarah Lancashire in anything though so I did persevere. I've always liked her in whatever role she's played. Remember dippy Raquel in Corrie? She just brings such warmth and believability to whatever role she's in.
Am also blindly devoted to Ant and Dec.

POGS Mon 11-May-15 10:30:00

Juliette

I think you are a fellow 'Nello' fan. I was so pleased for him, such an unbelievable, endearing story, only a few people watched Marvellous on GN I believe as I did a thread when it was aired.. I was sad Toby Jones didn't win best actor but It was a tough line up. At least they did have two awards.

Sarah Lancashire didn't win but again a very tough line up, all 4 were excellent actresses.

Tegan Mon 11-May-15 11:19:33

Another Nello fan here; I'll watch it on catchup. Toby Jones is so underrated; I loved him in The Detectorists as well [I assume that didn't win anything].

annodomini Mon 11-May-15 13:26:00

Had it on in the background while I was surfing the net, playing on-line Sudoku and failing to solve the Observer crossword - usually very do-able! There were some nice frocks and some very bad mistakes. Graham Norton was a competent host and his show won a BAFTA!

HildaW Mon 11-May-15 17:43:51

Tegan ...it did actually.

and I'm so glad 'The Detectorists' won a prize but, am one of those who cannot see the merit in Ant and Dec...what is it they actually do?

HildaW Mon 11-May-15 17:46:14

just checked it was the Radio Times public vote award.

Tegan Mon 11-May-15 17:56:41

I'm so glad about that. Looking forward to the next series.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 11-May-15 17:58:36

I do Graham Norton.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 11-May-15 17:59:12

shock No I don't actually. I like him.
