So Lucy or Stevie?

merlotgran Sat 04-Apr-15 20:54:57

Lucy. Dare we hope that someone who actually has a voice will win it?

tanith Sat 04-Apr-15 20:59:31

No can't bear the show sorry.

granjura Sat 04-Apr-15 21:05:56

So Stevie- but I am sure Lucy has a fabulous career ahead of her anyhow.

merlotgran Sat 04-Apr-15 21:08:31

Whoever comes second in these talent shows usually becomes more famous than the winner.

This is the first time we've watched it. Not a fan but nothing else worth watching.

Marelli Sat 04-Apr-15 21:14:17

We haven't really followed it, either (can't stand the panel) but have liked what we've seen/heard from him. Stevie comes from just a few miles away from us, and the local Fire Station call centre which is just round the corner, will be going daft! grin

granjura Sat 04-Apr-15 21:14:54

Montalbano now on BBC4

Marelli Sat 04-Apr-15 21:20:02

Can't remember seeing this one....might watch it!

Liz46 Sat 04-Apr-15 21:28:08

I thought Lucy was best. Unlike Marelli I think the panel were good and enjoyed their performances.

Marelli Sat 04-Apr-15 21:38:14

She's a beautiful singer, Liz46. I just think the panel seem to show off (when they're being the panel, that is). smile

Load of tosh as far as this household is concerned.

DH and I watched a fascinating programme called Wild China.

felice Sat 04-Apr-15 23:08:04

Nope, Wild China and then Montalbano, can't be doing with it.

I was just scrolling through the news and noticed a Scotsman won, wow, I wonder if he bribed the French to vote for him...... Ok sarky but still amazing.

LOL this was NOT the Eurovision c*ap test (as it used to be called in our house).

granjura Sun 05-Apr-15 14:22:37

It's ok, there is no need to 'apologize' if you watched it, and no need, really ;) to be snobby about it if it is not your cup of tea- ahhh the GN look down your nose at other Gnetters- its funny.

Will is a bit weird, but the other 3 panellists have been so supportive and down-to earth and so much kindness, they actually grew on me. Some of the contestants did have amazing voices- and as said, not much else on a Saturday evening before Montalbano. Hopefully our brain will not be affected forever for watching ;) doh...

Marelli Sun 05-Apr-15 16:22:59

I've even been known to snatch a bit of Jeremy Kyle now and again grinwink!

ninathenana Mon 06-Apr-15 00:56:07

I had no intention of coming across as "snobby" grandua. I would never criticise someone for their point of view.
I was just expressing mine smile

Sorry !! flipping Kindle. granjura

Only jesting- no harm done. Having said nobody should have to apologise for watching it, I will! We have a youngster from the UK staying over for Easter, and she wanted to watch. We were actually quite surprised at the quality of the candidates and their voices- and surprised about the attitude and kindness of the judges, as said, apart from Will who does grate a bit.

Granny23 Mon 06-Apr-15 17:45:26

Not something I would usually watch but the winner, Stevie, lives a mere 3 miles from us and I got caught up in all the local enthusiasm. People had Vote Stevie posters in their windows and on cars. At first I thought he was a GE candidate!! but friends and neighbours soon put me right.

So we watched the final 3 episodes and even voted for him because I thought he was 'simply the best'. Can't believe how overjoyed I was when he won. The whole Wee County were rooting for him and everyone is so pleased. It has really cheered us up - good news for once.

Marelli Mon 06-Apr-15 18:24:59

Granny23 - I wasn't thinking when I said that Stevie lived just a few miles from us! He worksjust a few miles from us....well, he did, anyway! grin Very pleased for the chap.

durhamjen Mon 06-Apr-15 19:39:58

The strange thing is I couldn't bring myself to vote in the final, as I would have felt bad if those I hadn't voted for were knocked out.
If you vote online you get three votes, but nobody stood out as being worse or better than the others.

Although I've watched and enjoyed the previous series of The Voice, I don't think it has been as good this year. I've only had it on in the background while reading the Saturday papers and doing the crossword. I wasn't impressed with any of the singers and didn't really care who won. I think because the winners from the previous series do not seem to have done very well, fewer people have been attracted to entering The Voice.

I like the panel, although I find WillIam a bit irritating sometimes.
