Esio Trot was dire. I was really looking forward to it as Judi Dench and Dustin Hofman were both in it but I was bored silly and very disappointed.

We taped it for our DGD who is 8 as she had just read the book.
I watched it with her and asked her which she prerfered and she said the book.
As I have never read the book it was a new story for me 
but from an adults prospective I found it OK, not mind blowing for sure. From a child's prospective I was quite surprised the adult relationship between all of the characters resonated with an 8 years old.
Does that make sense
