I remember being unsure at the end of the first series, and I am already slightly confused following tonight's episode. However, I was really looking forward to it, so I hope I shall be able to keep up. I need subtitles to help me!
What did others think of it so far?

I feel sorry for Olivia C and David T and indeed all the other actors, who were lumbered with this dreadful script.
It's so bad, it's unmissable!

I may have missed someone else asking this question, but who is paying for the house that the woman who David Tennant is shielding is living in? And all the bills? I may have got it wrong, but didn't he say this was just an unofficial witness protection scenario, organised by him alone?

The whole thing is getting more unbelievable by the week, but I must admit I'm still enjoying it.

I wish it could 'deffat' me! It has, in fact, defeated me!

Greyduster Tue 20-Jan-15 12:03:14

I was riveted by the last series, but this one has finally defatted me, it's now so silly. I sat and read a book through last night's episode.

Yes - and Alec doesn't actually seem to go to work at all.

The scene where Alec is taken to apologise to the other chap (name forgotten) by a PC - like a naughty schoolboy who has been knocking on doors and running away - that was a bit off the wall.

But I am enjoying it!

trisher Tue 20-Jan-15 11:14:28

Well I'm worried about how the Olivia Coleman character is managing everything! She has been downgraded from DS to PC so must have had a pay cut, but she has a house she doesn't live in which must be mortgaged, must be paying rent somewhere and has a childminder! She can't afford it! And she does so much- works as a traffic cop, waits outside court, acts as lookout, helps deliver baby, goes clubbing. When does she do the shopping and washing?
I was worried what she had done with the baby but apparently she has the best childminder ever!

He's mine!!

annsixty Tue 20-Jan-15 10:00:23

What is not to be gorgeous shysal? I could melt in those eyes.Fight you for him Mishap?

ninathenana Tue 20-Jan-15 09:06:31

It doesn't take an expert to know that the points of law are rubbish.

That doesn't stop me enjoying it smile

shysal Tue 20-Jan-15 08:59:28

Gorgeous, Mishap? I find him most unattractive, especially in this role.
I am still watching, with subtitles, hoping it will become more realistic!

Mishap Mon 19-Jan-15 22:11:39

Ah, but he's rather gorgeous grumppa!

grumppa Mon 19-Jan-15 22:07:43

And it's getting sillier. I confidently expect Matt from the Archers, having deserted Lillian, to have an affair with prosecuting counsel.

And Alec IS the world's worst cop. The tabloid was right.

Ana Mon 19-Jan-15 22:04:00

I'm still enjoying it too. Olivia Colman is such a good actress I could watch her in anything and not bother too much about the finer details of the plot!

Mishap Mon 19-Jan-15 22:00:53

Well - I like it. Bit puzzled about the whole car situation - people arrive places with no car, or lend their car to someone else, and then seem to be able to get from A to B.

Broadchurch 2 is rapidly descending into farce: plot, legal procedures, characterisation......

Don't follow this link unless you are a cynic (like me) who mutters all the way through about clangers in programmes:

Perhaps I should check mine, I stuffed him into a kennel cupboard for the winter (he is a summer dog). He may need some winalot and water grin

Or perhaps pedigree chum; he is a pedigree even if he is 2nd hand!

janerowena Thu 15-Jan-15 22:20:09

grin

I was determined to get my money's worth with DD's bag, so bought her one that has half a dozen little dogs scattered all over it.

Flowerofthewest Thu 15-Jan-15 22:17:54

Nothing so common rosequartz nothing but the best for Radley Dog, I took a taxi to the London Teaching Hospital for The Best Vets in the World. Cost me a bomb but it was a Radley Dog after all.

Once found a dirty little rag dog lying on a peat road in the Hebrides. My friend's bear gave it the kiss of life then we left it.

rosequartz Wed 14-Jan-15 23:47:31

sad did you take it to the RSPCA?

Flowerofthewest Wed 14-Jan-15 23:46:37

I once found a Radley dog lying in the gutter.

rosequartz Wed 14-Jan-15 23:46:27

Yes, the vicar is positively encouraging the accused to plead guilty.

Perhaps it was a Dalek.

rosequartz Wed 14-Jan-15 23:44:14

Easier to take for a walk, though, Flower grin

I have one, it was given by a friend who bought it and didn't use it.
It doesn't have a long strap though, unfortunately.

Flowerofthewest Wed 14-Jan-15 23:41:35

I too am very suspicious of the dodgy vicar but then I am often suspicious of vicars (kidding)

Flowerofthewest Wed 14-Jan-15 23:40:45

Its got a dog hanging off it Ana lot of money for a dog.
