I remember being unsure at the end of the first series, and I am already slightly confused following tonight's episode. However, I was really looking forward to it, so I hope I shall be able to keep up. I need subtitles to help me!
What did others think of it so far?

Me too! I thought it was hilarious when she said she didn't take kindly to irony or whatever it was.

I know teenagers do change but the complete transformation of the daughter (who had dodgy boyfriend and possible drug use in the first series) is nothing less than miraculous. She could even be left with the baby!! Even some of the best teenagers I know would be useless if they had to change a nappy.

They're copying the format of The Killing so much I was wondering if I'd be less critical and picky if I watched it with subtitles and pretended it was Scandinavian [?]....

I like Meera Syall as the Judge. She reminds me of a number of the younger, female, not all white judges whose courts I've worked in. Her informality alongside not taking kindly to sarcasm from witnesses reminds me of one judge in particular.

Mind you, none of us are saying much about Broadchurch is reflective of 'normal life' are we, it wouldn't be half as entertaining if it was some kind of docusoap

I thought that about the daughter, too! Then remembered how good DD was with her baby brother.

I did child-minding for a few years, and often kept my charges overnight. Now I am wondering what their parents got up to!

The baby was born large enough to be weaned anyway, it's probably eating proper dinners.

My DDiL was mucking horses out only a few hours after giving birth to my DGS. So sitting in the court (whether or not she should've been there????) would be a doddle ! grin

Perhaps "Life isn't all ha ha hee" afterall Juliette smile

I read that years ago, but I can't remember a thing about it now! confused

gillybob Thu 22-Jan-15 12:05:23

I can't remember much either Ana except it was about a group of 30 something Asian women. I do remember it being quite funny though.

I bought "Life isn't all ha ha hee hee" because I'd enjoyed "Anita and Me" so much but I found it to be a disappointing follow up.

Just read Gaby Roslyn in yesterday's Metro saying BC is one of her favourite programmes, how well written it is and people should stop knocking it because of muttering! What is she watching? Can't be the same programme! Although I suppose you could say it is well written because you have to keep watching to see what incredible thing happens next!

I know the plot has more holes in it than a string vest, but it is pretend you know. It isn't real.

It's turned into the most awful rubbish, sadly, and I won't be watching any more episodes.Great shame, as the original Broadchurch was so good.

D.I.Hardy must the the worst policeman on TV.

merlotgran Tue 27-Jan-15 10:04:57

Too many comings and goings. Too many characters to try and keep up with.

I'm not really interested in the Sandbrook story.

confused

I like it!

Pittcity Tue 27-Jan-15 11:48:02

My mind wandered during last night's episode so I may have to skip through it again later so it becomes a bit clearer than mud confused

Having given us TV's worst cop, Broadchurch is now giving us TV's worst barristers, and all to rescue a sinking plot.

Tegan Tue 27-Jan-15 12:54:01

So they've been accused of having an affair and they then go away for the weekend and share a bed confused. That childminder might as well adopt the baby. Having said that, it's getting so bad it's getting good [if that makes sense].

Ana Tue 27-Jan-15 12:58:24

And what's Pauline Quirke playing at? confused

She's dying, Alec's suffering from some mysterious but serious illness and Charlotte Rampling's eyesight's going peculiar - will all or any of them survive to the end of the series?

mrshat Tue 27-Jan-15 18:05:38

I'm enjoying it - but it needs lots of concentration grin

trisher Tue 27-Jan-15 18:06:11

And everyone seems to have slept with everyone else-unless they are married of course!

Tegan Mon 09-Feb-15 19:20:04

I know I can watch it on catchup but I'm now beginning to need to watch it when it's on just to 'get it out of the way'. sad
