I remember being unsure at the end of the first series, and I am already slightly confused following tonight's episode. However, I was really looking forward to it, so I hope I shall be able to keep up. I need subtitles to help me!
What did others think of it so far?

Mishap Mon 23-Feb-15 22:03:49

A good ending - brilliant. I will miss David Tennant once a week - he does it for me!

Anya Mon 23-Feb-15 22:03:28

Well I watched the first two episodes and the last one just now. Didn't miss anything by leaving out the ones beyween.

grumppa Mon 23-Feb-15 22:02:49

Oh no! Not a third series! I suppose the ones arrested for murdering the two girls will withdraw their confessions too.

Pittcity Mon 23-Feb-15 22:01:16

Broadchurch will return!

Soutra Mon 23-Feb-15 22:01:12

Yes! A satisfactory conclusion!
Bring on Series 3.

POGS Mon 23-Feb-15 19:56:51

I hope so too. Not sure I could do Broadchurch 3. confused

rosequartz Mon 23-Feb-15 19:52:56

Do you know, I forgot it was on

The 2nd series must be be rivetting

shysal Mon 23-Feb-15 19:20:29

My thoughts are the same, Tegan. I fear the outcome will be more confusion!

Tegan Mon 23-Feb-15 18:21:51

Please let there be a proper ending tonight; otherwise I'll feel as if I've wasted 6 hours [@] of my life.....

Thank you rose that would be great. It's the way it is filmed as well as the legal teams that got to me. I love Olivia and David but the court people, especially Sharon Bishop QC, I can't stand her voice.

But to know the outcome or maybe outcome depending on another series would be good, thanks. smile

I think the part of the vicar was written with Arthur Darvall in mind. He has only featured on the periphery so far, so, I think Tegan is right.
Perhaps Danny rejected him, the Aussie girl is just a useful cover.

gillybob Thu 19-Feb-15 12:09:50

There is something about that creepy vicar Tegan perhaps you are right.

I noticed the jury scribbling away on note pads and when they left the court room they were empty handed. Surely the whole point of making notes is to use them to refer back to later on. I have never done jury service but can't see the point of the notepads otherwise.

rosequartz Thu 19-Feb-15 12:05:11

I did the same with 'Wolf Hall' rubylady
At least I know the ending of that.
And we will let you know the ending of Broadchurch next week wink - at least I hope it is the ending! If you are interested.

I gave up, deleted the recordings and felt better for it. grin

I think Tom would have cracked by now if he'd done it. He doesn't look guilty enough - although he obviously knows something...

rosesarered Wed 18-Feb-15 16:02:32

I have given up trying to puzzle out whodunnit now, too many people to choose from.is a clue the dog, who didn't bark in the night?

rosequartz Wed 18-Feb-15 13:56:48

Tegan no cliffs (well, little ones at each end) as of yesterday, and no lovely golden sands, only ankle-wrecking pebbles!
Some of the town scenes are filmed in Clevedon but the beach scenes are filmed in West Bay.
I think there is a link to where it was filmed in an earlier post.

Perhaps Joe thinks it was his son so is trying to protect him when in fact it was the Aussie girl.
Confusing myself now grin

Tegan Wed 18-Feb-15 13:36:56

The Aussie girl does make sense, except Joe wouldn't say he was guilty to protect her. Maybe Joe and the vicar were having a relationship and Danny clocked it. The possibilities are endless. Are there clifs at Clevedon by the way? I don't recall seeing them when I holidayed there as a child.

Ana Tue 17-Feb-15 23:30:50

The trouble is, if the jury decide they can't safely convict Joe and he's found not guilty, the series could go on forever...confused

rosequartz Tue 17-Feb-15 23:28:05

No-one will want to get the right answer!

Ana Tue 17-Feb-15 23:23:26

Well as long as David Tennant isn't there as well. Doesn't he realise that even if a man chooses to sport a beard it shouldn't grow all down his neck as well...confused

rosequartz Tue 17-Feb-15 23:17:31

They'll be exhuming Grandma as well without due legal process next week - she knows whodunnit.

I reckon the Aussie girl did it, she saw Danny spying on her and his dad. She confessed to the vicar but he fancies her so is trying to make sure that -iforgethisname - (the accused) is found guilty.

OR

Ellie's son knows what happened. He was jealous of Danny because he knew that Danny had a 'special relationship' with his father.
Perhaps he did it, not the Aussie. His father sent him home and put the body on the beach and confessed himself to save his son.

GN should have a competition - prize could be a week in Broadchurch for whoever gets the right answer..

merlotgran Tue 17-Feb-15 22:04:12

Maybe it was Grandma, who is now six feet under. hmm

Mishap Tue 17-Feb-15 22:01:18

And the nonsense idea that Danny's father killed him because he had seen him in flagrante in the van was totally mad - he had written a note confessing as much to his wife, so why would he kill to hide the fact from her?

lefthanded Tue 17-Feb-15 21:54:22

And would somebody please tell the producers that juries can only seek clarification of facts already disclosed during the trial. A real jury would not be allowed to ask whether Danny's father had been questioned.
