I have just watched 'Marvellous' and I thought it was brilliant.
It's based on a true story of Neil Baldwin who is classed as having learning difficulties but the more I watched I thought he was so much smarter than me because he had no inhibitians and his life was so uncomplicated. Good on you Neil.
Toby Jones played Neil and you could just see how much love and respect he had for Neil and his face just shone when Neil himself took his cameo role in parts of the play.
If you have the opportunity to watch I hope you will, it was funny, endearing and a genuinely interesting story. The fact the 'real Neil' took part in the play was pure genious and made the whole story work.
His sweet nature and character gave him the confidence to be a clown, 'self appointed ' chaplain of Keele University, lay preacher and kit man for Stoke City Football Club. He is a wonderful, uplifting character.
5 stars from me. Toby Jones might not win the Best Actor award but I wouldn't mind betting he get's a nomination. Both the writing and the acting were 'MARVELLOUS'
