Strictly - shall you?

Juts read the article in RT (in Smiths don't buy it) re Strictly Come Dancing and it looks dire - no Brucie and a guest list of no-one I have ever heard of except that coarse fruit and veg man and Andy Murray's sour faced mother.
I suppose I will get sucked in but I think its a record and wiz through job now - I like watching the professional dancers but can't stand the rubbish that Tess talks.
Will you be watching?

I'm with you specki! Will have to find something else to watch on Saturday nights now. Have lost all confidence in the judging apart from Craig. Oh well.

Anya Mon 08-Dec-14 07:46:18

It wasn't just Len who voted for Simon was it? Darcy too thought his was the better performance.

Well that has freed up my Saturday evenings - what a travesty! To vote the best dancer out on the grounds that her 'professional' executed some 'illegal' moves. Len is misguidedly deliberately causing controversy. Simon's dance off was worse than his effort on Saturday. After seeing it and before watching Pixie, I thought "thats it Simon's out."
Pixie and Trent made the whole show shine and sparkle and she was a fabulous dancer- she should have at least reached the final.
Article in the Telegraph proposes the suggestion that Pixie had dance/drama training as a child and was therefore inevitably eliminated. Well, on that basis Frankie should go next, then Jake, then Simon and the final should be between the true amateurs - Mark and Caroline.

Although Pixie has been, undoubtably, a brilliant dancer throughout the series, I remarked last night, before the judges said anything, that her dance wasn`t grabbing me, thought it was a bit boring, whereas Simon and Kristina put on a wonderful show. Len did say that his job was to judge of what he`d seen in the dance off, not what had gone before, and I think he made the correct decision. As for the final winner, I`d love it to be Frankie and Kevin, Kevin`s a lovely lad, but I have a sneaky feeling it will be Caroline.

I only put the TV on to watch the dance off and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that Pixie was in it as I thought she was a likely winner. Just goes to show how little I know. Now I think the winner must be Caroline whatsit, she did a wonderful tango yesterday.

I agree with you NanKate. On the night, Simon's dance was - to my mind - better than Pixie's. What does make me sad is that neither of them should have been in the dance-off. The perfect final shoot-out would be - for me - between Caroline and Simon.

Charleygirl Sun 07-Dec-14 21:17:43

I agree NanKate Simon appeared to be the more accomplished dancer tonight.

There was a time when I thought that Pixie might win- now it is anybody's game.

Jane10 Sun 07-Dec-14 20:59:14

Yes Jake, Mark or Simon should have gone first. The girls were all better. Len's nuts!

TerriBull Sun 07-Dec-14 20:54:20

I'm really glad to see Simon through, like Mark he's definitely developed from not that good at the beginning to very accomplished, but what a shock to see Pixie voted off. I thought she was always consistently one of the best. The dance let her down tonight. They are all very good now, but I think Caroline might win overall. I'd like to have seen Jake voted off tonight.

Gagagran Sun 07-Dec-14 20:31:28

Me too NanKate. I think Simon has developed into a brilliant all-round dancer and I would be happy to see him win. Pixie never appealed to me - too plastic and her cha-cha was poor tonight - both times. Right result for me.

merlotgran Sun 07-Dec-14 20:20:42

Neither of them should have been in the dance off.

NanKate Sun 07-Dec-14 20:09:54

Dare I say it I preferred Simon's dance. Tin hat read for the avalanche of comments. hmm

Jane10 Sun 07-Dec-14 20:05:14

Can't believe it! What's wrong with that man! I won't be watching it any more this series

merlotgran Sun 07-Dec-14 20:02:28

Pixie should NOT have gone.

Ever heard of Specsavers, Len? angry

merlotgran Sun 07-Dec-14 18:17:45

I think it will be Jake and Mark in the dance off.

annodomini Sun 07-Dec-14 16:58:42

Mark? I still hope to see Simon in the final, though there's stiff competition. He has made the greatest progress of all the contestants.

NanKate Sun 07-Dec-14 16:05:52

I wonder who will leave tonight. They are all dancing to such a high standard.

Deedaa Mon 01-Dec-14 21:51:23

I've only just caught up with my recording of Saturday's show and I agree that all the backing dancers are awful! They are such a distraction, I want to see a pair of people dancing together - not a troop! It's supposed to be ballroom dancing, not a production number.

numberplease Mon 01-Dec-14 17:55:42

It doesn`t help that his looks don`t go with his actions, poor man!

Charleygirl Mon 01-Dec-14 17:43:30

Depending on the type of dance, I think that it may be Mark or Jake who may be leaving. Jake's gyrating supposedly sexy hip movements make me feel like puking.

PRINTMISS Mon 01-Dec-14 07:28:45

I am with you there Number I really thought that Jake was awful this week, perhaps his previous performances helped save him, and I do mean performances, because of course he is an actor and puts that into his dancing (although I do not think that much of his acting in Eastenders!). I think probably the right choice has been made as Sunetra has not improved as much as everyone else.

numberplease Sun 30-Nov-14 21:02:41

I thought that Jae was very lucky tonight, not to be in the dance off, because no way did Mark deserve to be there. Thank goodness that justice prevailed.

pompa Sun 30-Nov-14 20:49:09

Another fair result. Sunetra was (IMO) the poorest performer on the night.
She has not improved much over the last few weeks, whereas the others have.
They were all good, it is getting very hard to split them, all down to the night.
I think Brendon accepted that it was their time to go.

Eloethan Sun 30-Nov-14 20:47:33

I hated the horrible "tough boy" grimacing that accompanied Jake's "sexy" moves - yuk.

I like Caroline and Simon the best so far.

merlotgran Sun 30-Nov-14 20:26:55

Brendan seemed thrilled to bits that Mark is staying. Couldn't put him down. hmm
