Strictly - shall you?

Juts read the article in RT (in Smiths don't buy it) re Strictly Come Dancing and it looks dire - no Brucie and a guest list of no-one I have ever heard of except that coarse fruit and veg man and Andy Murray's sour faced mother.
I suppose I will get sucked in but I think its a record and wiz through job now - I like watching the professional dancers but can't stand the rubbish that Tess talks.
Will you be watching?

I cannot bear Greg Wallace- DH says he's a Milwall supporter apparently that speaks volumes! Like Tim W though - he should be fun and very gentlemanly. Looking forward to Mrs Murray berating the judges. Saturday evening TV is dire - I wouldn't watch X Factor or anything like it at gunpoint! We usually find a film that is after DH has had his weekly dose of Dad's Army which makes him laugh like a drain.

I don't really watch Strictly. I sometimes have a look on the iplayer. My DH won't tolerate 'celebrities' in any way, shape or form.

kittylester Wed 03-Sept-14 10:07:23

I would have had Greg W down as a Millwall supporter grin

Since DD came to live here we have to watch XFactor but we only watch after it has started so we can fast forward through the ads!

KatyK Wed 03-Sept-14 10:26:51

I do that with lots of programmes kitty. I fast forward the ads and the boring bits. smile

Actually Printmiss Greg Wallace, who I don't like either, has lost a bit of weight and isn't as porky looking as he was.

I wouldn't want him getting his sticky mits on me on the dance floor. shock

What is it that Greg Wallace has that makes the BBC think him an ideal candidate for anything? Bald, fat, self-adoring, fronts a cookery show, - not sure if he can cook, and now he is going to be prancing around on our screens (if we watch) Ugh!

I couldn't agree with that more.

HollyDaze Wed 03-Sept-14 16:17:11

Any bets on which no-hoper will be assigned to poor old Anton this year?

That does irritate me, I would like to see more of Anton (how can you not smile at that grin of his!) but he does seem to be given the no-hopers. Mind you, with the awful James Jordan out of the picture, maybe Anton will be promoted!

With regard to the presenters, I would replace Tess Daly (she always seems ill-at-ease to me and not funny at all (even though she laughs at her own unfunny comments)) but am happy with Claudia presenting the show; does it need two presenters?

shysal Wed 03-Sept-14 17:56:30

My guess for Anton would be Judy Murray, or possibly Alison Hammond.
I am watching James Jordan on Celebrity Big Brother ( blush ), he is not coming across at all well!

NanKate Wed 03-Sept-14 18:33:45

Shysal yesterday at 15.21 you mentioned your SCD love child, now I hope it isn't Tim Wonacott but of course you are far too young to be his mum. grin

kittylester Wed 03-Sept-14 18:39:08

I said that ^^ and sal didn't deny it Kate grin

sparkygran Wed 03-Sept-14 19:53:07

I`m with you Nvella can`t stand Bruce Forsyth never could, Claudia and Tess work well together I shall be watching - and I like Judy Murray

NanKate Wed 03-Sept-14 21:40:23

So our suspicions may have been confirmed Kitty hmm

shysal Wed 03-Sept-14 22:17:52

Kate and Kitty, I am sworn to secrecy. You may see me in the audience - oh no, you don't know what I look like!

rubylady Wed 03-Sept-14 23:13:35

For all you Greg Wallace lovers, he is with a woman 21 years his junior. He is 49 years old and she then is 28. Love him a bit more now? grin

I have loved Bruce over the years in his Generation Game, Play your cards right, etc., but I do think it is time he hung up his dancing shoes. He missed a couple of episodes last year from being ill and didn't do the Sunday show, obviously feeling it now. He is, however, doing a Christmas special of Strictly so he has not gone down yet without a fight. confused

NanKate Thu 04-Sept-14 07:30:19

Shysal beware Kitty and I are the Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson of Gransnet.

From your fab photos on your profile we will be looking for someone in the audience who is covered in cat hairs, maybe a badger hair or two, plus a pair of secateurs on their lap having done a quick bit of pruning of that gorgeous garden of yours before leaving.

We will be there with our magnifying glasses and funny hats. grin

PRINTMISS Thu 04-Sept-14 07:47:13

ruby not really, self-adoring is all I see when (and if) I watch him, which I try to avoid. Of course it takes all sorts.

kittylester Thu 04-Sept-14 09:20:34

Nor me ruby!

sal we are on to you! shock

HollyDaze Thu 04-Sept-14 09:28:57

You may see me in the audience

Great - now we'll all be scanning the audience for a female looking adoringly at one of the male contestants instead of paying attention to the dancing grin

Lona Thu 04-Sept-14 09:37:38

shysal after looking at your profile pics, I want to know why we haven't been offered any cupcake?
grin

shysal Thu 04-Sept-14 09:56:58

Here you are Lona. cupcakecupcakecupcake

Did I say it was a male love child? wink

kittylester Thu 04-Sept-14 09:57:23

This last little exchange has brought a grin to my face! I love gn. sunshine

Lona Thu 04-Sept-14 09:58:58

Thanks! grin
They look amazing by the way!

KatyK Thu 04-Sept-14 10:05:05

Can't stand Bruce. He's all 'look at me, look what I've done, I can sing and dance I can and I'm married to a former Miss World don't you know'. He has done well for himself obviously but it just grates. I never liked him on the Generation Game. I thought he would take the mickey out of people to get a laugh. I think I've got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning! blush

HollyDaze Thu 04-Sept-14 10:28:45

Did I say it was a male love child? wink

Oh no! There will be no respite when the female dancers are on!

(Note to self: must work harder on my detecting skills, she didn't fall for it ....)

Anne58 Thu 04-Sept-14 10:30:27

Is it only me that thinks Tim Wonnacott is a pretentious knobhead?
