Yes the Godfather one did it for me, and I'm not even that keen on the actor. Some years ago there was a gorgeous skater who used the Godfather music. I practically had to be scraped off the floor when he was on.
Best Supermarket Substitutions?
Juts read the article in RT (in Smiths don't buy it) re Strictly Come Dancing and it looks dire - no Brucie and a guest list of no-one I have ever heard of except that coarse fruit and veg man and Andy Murray's sour faced mother.
I suppose I will get sucked in but I think its a record and wiz through job now - I like watching the professional dancers but can't stand the rubbish that Tess talks.
Will you be watching?

I think my favourite is Pixie so far.
Doesn't she match her partner so well. He reminds me at times of a younger brother of Patrick Jane, The Mentalist.
I do rate Jake but I wish he would crack a smile every now and then. I can't make my mind up if he is shy, wouldn't think so given he is an actor, or a bit lacking in personality. Probably wrong on both counts but he could look like he is enjoying it all.
Pixie`s partner looks as if he`d be right at home in Home and Away, he`s got those lovely blonde Aussie good looks! I was very disappointed in the dance off tonight, no way should either of them have been in the dance off, so very sorry to see the back of Jennifer. Scott should have been there, joined by either Tim or Judy, but then again, Tim is charming, and Judy has a lovely smile.
The piece I enjoyed the most was when Anton danced whilst Donny sang - that man just floats across the floor when he has the right partner, and he just seems to enjoy it so much. I felt so relaxed just watching him. Not sure he will get far with Judy, she really does need to loosen up, and of course we are still at the stage where our 'favourite' people are getting through, rather than the best dancers, or at least that is what I think.
I do so agree Printmiss - Anton is a sublime ballroom expert and I would LOVE to dance a foxtrot with him. He and Erin are a joy to watch and I wish she was still part of Strictly. Judy did a bit better in hold I thought but then who wouldn't with Anton steering?
Yes time for Jennifer to go - it was an awful routine and her costume was terrible - can't stand Abba anyway!
Is it just me or are the costumes much worse this year? Such odd colour combinations and unflattering styles (with a very few exceptions).
I totally agree re the costumes that they are wearing. Alison again was in some horrendous creation that did nothing for her. Sunetra's was lovely- the direct opposite.
Judy is obviously agile and can move around a tennis court with ease so it's a shame that she's so wooden on the dance floor. The fact that she's so slim works in her favour whereas poor Jennifer looked ungainly in her ridiculous costume and miming to the song always goes down badly with the judges.
We hooted with laughter when Donny Osmond criticised Anton for 'taking the lead' and Anton's reply, 'Yes, that's what I do!'
Off you pop, Donny.
I am so glad that Simon was saved by the judges - I was so angry with Kristina's routine (I don't care what the judges said, that routine was all about her and it isn't the first time she has done that; I remember Len telling her a couple of years ago that the routine is not about showcasing herself) as it put Simon at risk. She was right to apologise to Simon.
I think Frankie is doing really well so I shall be hoping she is in the final. I loved Steve's dance, that was very good.

Me too
(and what was with Donny Osmond giving 8s and 9s for mediocre dances?)
The costume designers always seem to have a problem with anyone over thirty and bigger than a size 10. They send them out swathed in yards of unflattering pastels and they end up looking 10 years older and 3 stones heavier. Why can't they have slightly larger versions of the attractive costumes the skinny girls get?
I seem to remember that in previous series the dresses looked like actual dresses rather than "costumes". Some really stick out in my memory as being so beautiful. Apart, of course, from the necessity to keep Ola wearing as little as possible - presumably to keep the OHs watching!
I'm sorry ladies but as a child of the seventies Donny can do no wrong in my eyes. To me he is absolutely perfect. DH says he can't possibly be and he has probably got a huge skelington in the cupboard waiting to pop out. (Jealousy custard) . The only tiniest bit of criticism I would give him is that the hair dye is a bit too black these days Donny (if you happen to be reading this) and a bit of natural grey looks very sexy in a man of your age.
Anyway back to topic. In his defense when Donny said "Anton was taking the lead" I think what he probably meant was Anton was dragging Judy around as if she was on a lead. She might as well have been a puppet doll attached to his feet. Although maybe not. A puppet woukd have at least been flexible. She was like a stick.
I too love Donny gilly. DDs had the video of 'Joseph' on loop and could sing EVERYTHING and do the actions. So could I
Well Donny Osmond won't be back on Strictly as too many fans complained about his weird scoring, his lewd comment to Jake and his over-the-top use of the word 'baby' (which, for some reason, amuses me).
His constant harking back to 'when I won Dancing with the Stars' rather than 'when I took part in' annoyed me!
And I nearly fell asleep during his 'new single'.
Heavens Gilly my DD and DS were children of the 70s. Now I feel really old
Oh come on Ana Moon River is a classic and was sang as a tribute to his late great mentor Andy Williams. I believe he has a new album out with songs that have meant something special to him over the years. I thought he sang it beautifully (but there again the man can do no wrong in my eyes)
It was always meant to be a one off Hollydaze he is doing the rounds in the UK and is sitting in for Steve Wrights Sunday love songs on radio 2 for a couple of weeks. Guess who will be tuned in? Yeah baby.
Trouble was, I kept comparing his version to Andie Williams'. And Donnie did not come off well.
I thought he sounded diabolical.
I wasn't impressed, but Anton and Jo's beautiful waltz took my mind off Donnie.
gillybob
Yeah baby.

It would have been a very nice rendering, if my mind hadn`t kept going back to Danny Williams singing it years ago (and yes, I DO mean Danny, not Andy, Williams). My second daughter was a massive Donnie fan in the mid 70s, everything she wore had to be purple, Donnie`s favourite colour!
Yes Anno.
And I wondered if the applause was more for them than for the singer.
Andy Murray on Skype was his usual charmless self. All the years his mother has been there to support him and he comes out with a not unexpected sarcastic comment.
I feel like voting for her now!!
As I said last week, and was proved so wrong, it`s between Scott, Tim and Judy for the bottom 2 this week. I`ll probably be proved wrong again! I thought that Frankie, Thom and Simon were the best this week.
