I can't stand the woman, and sneakily hope she finds it more difficult than she thinks to lose the weight. Unfortunately, a she is naturally slim and will be followed by cameras, she will probably find it easy resulting in her being more smug than ever. Much as I would like to ignore the show, I expect I shall watch, even if it is only to bitch about her on here!
Many of us who carry extra pounds are not lazy, and I think we just have more of a tendency to gain weight than others.

Atqui is right. As she has put the weight on deliberately she probably won't have any problem losing it deliberately. She won't have any of the mental or physical issues that a chronically obese may be encumbered with and the whole exercise will be pointless. ( A bit like Katie Hopkins actually grin )

Well said Deedaa! grin

What's this then, a break out of agreement on gransnet, hallelujah

grin

Thanks for the acknowledgment Deeda! It's a subject close to my heart. People don't seem to realise that for many people overeating is an eating disorder.

Atqui said she probably tells people with depression to pull themselves together. I imagine her attitudes to anorexia and other compulsive eating disorders are identical to that.

Compulsive motor-mouth publicity seekers now - she thinks that is normal.

Never heard of the woman until all this self publicity binge that she has manufactured. Also, am I the only one who doesnt think that 12 stone is obese? I googled her after reading this post, she is slouching and puffing out on the sofa to look more obese. But......if TV stations didnt give her the publicity she wouldnt be able to do it. I hope she has bother getting rid of the weight and that this is the start of an awful period of yoyo dieting for her, nasty I know, but angry

This sounds totally unscientific and therefore meaningless.

Just one normally slim person trying to prove it is easy to lose weight if it is gained quickly?
I thought that fat cells are laid down in childhood and puberty, therefore what fat cells she already has will expand then shrink again quite quickly when she eats less. Someone with more fat cells laid down would find it more difficult to lose weight.

This is just a ploy to keep her in the limelight and bringing in the money.

Anyway it has already been done by Renee Zellwegger aka Bridget Jones (and others).

The more opprobrium she attracts, the more work she gets on TV. She must have an exceptional agent.

rosequartz Wed 03-Sept-14 10:04:11

That's true. Shall we stop giving her more publicity?
(Or send a bill for advertising)
