Absolutley amazing performance from Dolly well worth waiting for she is a fantastic performer.
I did enjoy Brian Ferry on Saturday night even though he did have a few voice problems he was very good all his music brought back fond memories of the time.

She had the largest audience at Glastonbury ever. More people watched her than the Stones last year. Not having her as the headline act was crazy. Looking at the newer bands who were on this year I can see why Eavis is saying the festival might end in 2020.

DH has just come home and walked out of the room - not his thing! Not mine usually but it IS Glastonbury. Oh he's just come back in again and said it's 'a mess - clever, but the notes are in the wrong direction'!

We switched off Kasabian for the same reason, rosequartz.

Pathetic really. Talent should be all that's necessary.

Just watched Dolly on catch-up, loved it and her!

Another thread asked what songs make you cry - well, it's Dolly (and only Dolly!) singing 'I will always love you'.

Just listening to Kasabian (DH is out). Ooh, language - none of that from Dolly.

I loved that reference too merlot. Love her!

merlotgran Sun 29-Jun-14 21:54:32

I loved the reference to the reason she wrote Jolene and having the last laugh with her success.

She's a treasure.

Grannyknot Sun 29-Jun-14 21:50:37

I loved it. I loved the natural way in which she did "the God thing", completely unselfconscious about it. The crowd went a bit quiet smile at that point.

absentgrandma Sun 29-Jun-14 21:37:33

I love the way she sends herself up. And her rendition of 'I will always love you' is just so sweet and tender, a million miles from Whitney Houston's wailing version....apologies to any Whitney Houston fans I may have offended!

Aka Sun 29-Jun-14 20:18:30

I love some of her quotes, here are two of the best known

'You'd be surprised how much it costs to look this cheap!'

'Im not offended by all the dumb blonde jokes because I know I'm not dumb... and I also know that I'm not blonde.'

Dolly Parton

I love it when the older performers give the younger ones a run for their money. Great to see such a massive crowd enjoying themselves. The wigs, 'boobs', flags and placards were a joy.

Aka Sun 29-Jun-14 19:51:25

I waved to you.

Aka Sun 29-Jun-14 19:51:11

Yes, that was me and Mr Aka, but the feathers kept getting stuck in his beard grin

kittylester Sun 29-Jun-14 19:47:35

So did I aka. We're you the one wearing the pink Stetson and boa? grin

Aka Sun 29-Jun-14 19:45:12

I saw her at the NEC last year and she was amazing there to.

Go Dolly!

gma Sun 29-Jun-14 19:26:51

Thoroughly enjoyed Dolly Partons set at Glastonbury!! What a performer, brilliant just brilliant! thank you Dolly!!

Ana Sun 29-Jun-14 19:03:09

Yes - and far better without that awful twiddly bit at the end...!

kittylester Sun 29-Jun-14 18:57:18

I keep saying that!

suzied Sun 29-Jun-14 18:55:01

Just seen I will always love you. Fantastic! She wrote that song and it's better than Whitney Houston

merlotgran Sun 29-Jun-14 18:52:08

Ritchie Sambora as well.....Fantastic!

She certainly is a fab 68yr old.

kittylester Sun 29-Jun-14 18:26:31

Thanks Merlot grin

suzied Sun 29-Jun-14 18:14:00

KatyK Sun 29-Jun-14 18:13:08
