I always drink out of my Sporting Life/Grand National/Northumberland Plate mugs when I'm watching the racing.

Those of you that love it, I hope you have an exciting fortnight with no rain offs. I might get excited for about 3mins during a good rally but that's it.

Just because I find it a big yawn doesn't mean I shouldn't post on the thread GrannyTwice.

I was visting a friend one afternon ,when her husband came home and complained that his Arsenal shirt was still.in the wash when he needed it to wear to watch the match on TV later that day. [

Mind you I did wear my tiara for the Royal wedding

I don't know anybody who wears sports kit while watching TV what a weird idea!!!

Please someone tell me of a news channel that does not have sport, I only have freeview which is useless I know. The other day I watched Sky news and it was almost all sport, BBC news had sport on it, Itv had sport, after that I gave up. I can see the point of dedicated sports channels that's fine for those who love it but why is it on every channel as well.

By the way can anyone tell me why, when there is a football match on tv those watching at home seem to wear their football shirts, I find this unbelievable who is going to know what you are wearing. Do the tennis fans wear a little white skirt/pants lol

Silverfish, I have a plethora of channels that don't show Wimbledon, and I don't even have Sky. At the moment ITV3 and 4 are showing the French Open and I haven't heard you complaining about that!

I am so glad I do not live in Wimbledon anymore..I hated the tennis season!

I try to have a balanced view about everything, so if im not interested in something I still have an opinion. As for tennis, we hardly have a choice as its on for weeks, almost as bad as football or any sport, it invades the news channels too, so its no good saying switch off as every channel has at least a summary of sport.

Watching all the French, will watch Queens and Wimbledon . As for choosing to climb walls, as this not always been the favourite sport of those in jailsand asylums ?

Watching tennis is a great pleasure for me.

Rafa Nadal who is what I would call a true sportsman, never makes excuses when he loses. When on top form he is mesmerising. I sincerely hope he wins the French Open.

I'm not keen on cricket, but I certainly won't be slagging off the sport to cricket fans, I wouldn't be that unkind.

Did anyone see the programme about Lynn Barber where she said that, when she interviewed Nadal everyone told her how lovely he was but she didn't like him [and she said his English is much better than he makes out]. She did say she warmed to him later in the interview, but I was surprised by the comment. I must admit that Sharapovas screaming drives me bonkers .

Goodness me - if I saw a thread which clearly indicated a topic in which I hadn't the slightest interest or worse, found extremely tedious, I wouldn't bother to click on, let alone say mean-spirited things about it when other people clearly enjoy it - but then, I've got a life......

Not interested. I doubt my tv will be on much over the next few months. Tennis , Commonwealth games and World cup all in a matter of weeks . Each to their own but I'm in the 'yawn' camp.

I suppose its a nice quiet game for doddery old folk in their 80s to watch of an afternoon, while sitting having their cup of tea but anyone with a spark of energy would be climbing the walls. Is it me or does it seem like when a player hits the ball, he/she could easily walk to the other side of the net and catch the same ball chuck it back and play by themselves or maybe ive been watching it slow motion. also can anyone tell me why they grunt and groan so much, it's not as if they're rushing around is it.

I'm with the yawners. DH and I went to Wimbledon once, it was some sort of works thing for his company. Bored witless. Good job we're not all the same!
