Did anyone watch this last night? I was really looking forward to it, but found it rather disappointing and fell asleep part way through.
Some of the presenters seemed to be having a great time, but is that the point?
The best bit was when one of the presenters stripped off his t-shirt to show off his muscles (no, not that bit) and then fell off the raft into the sea.

It must have cost the BBC licence payers a lot of money so perhaps I should watch again and try to stay awake next time.

I enjoyed it especially the bit about Broome as I had heard of that town and the events during WWII.

I will watch it again when I am not so shattered!

I had read a book about Darwin in WW2 but hadn't heard about Broome before.

I watched it and found it interesting but not quite a patch on some of the Coast episodes I've seen I will keep watching though.

Episode 2:

I enjoyed it, but found it odd that he did not mention the Sydney Opera House at all, as it is an iconic structure and had a very interesting history about the construction of it!!
I have read some books about the First Fleet, some factual and some novels and about some of the characters who went out. Have met someone whose ancestor went out on the Second Fleet, but no-one descended from anyone on the First Fleet as yet.

The old blokes in the swimming pool had me shouting at the TV. 'Typical Aussie Male - take your wives out for once; she is retired as well and may like to have a life' Then again, perhaps their wives prefer them out of the way so that they can do their own thing! Looking at them and listening to them that is probably right.

Yes I fell asleep too. The photography was brilliant and as Australia is somewhere I will never go to not being willing to sit in a plane for that long I was very interested. I do find the main presenter rather tedious. So in all I got half way through and don't think I hall watch the rest of it but will tune in for the Great Barrier Reef episode next week.

I did manage to stay awake for the whole episode this time I think! We do go there sometimes because we have family there but I will admit I hate the journey.
Looking forward to 'Coast' view of the Barrier Reef and hope it is more than an 'oh isn't this fantastic' point of view and manage to portray the threats to it from big business.
