Coach crash in Cornwall

I heard on the radio that there had been a coach crash in Cornwall today and that 2 people had sadly died. It had been a coach trip for pensioners I think.

I went down to London on a coach trip yesterday with my WI and when I got back I said to DH how well our coach driver had negotiated the streets of London. I even thanked him for his good driving.

My only concern was that when he got out of the coach I noticed saw he was over very weight, smoking and looked really quite unhealthy and I said to my hubby it had passed through my mind that the driver was in line for a heart attack and I hoped it would not be when I (or anyone else come to that) is travelling with him.

I really am not being 'fattest' or 'anti smoking' but it did worry me.

My friend and I used to go on regular coach trips from our back of beyond to the big city for symphony concerts and we had a running joke that we would rate the health and heart attack risk of the driver from 1 to 10 as we got on - I am afraid it is an unhealthy job. They should go through health checks like airline pilots.

Well I am glad it is not just me Mishap who has noticed this phenomenon.

This worries me too. Bus drivers have to have regular health checks but do the same rules apply to coach firms? I think this driver was breathalysed at the scene then arrested.

Do you feel you have to apologise NanKate for pointing out his state of health just because it was self inflicted?
