Any other sad person watching, now, on BBC 3 the first of the Eurovision Song Contest semi finals????

I think we stand a good chance of getting some points this year, hoo ra.

Why did he have to have a beard? I found it really creepy; to me he looked like Jesus in a frock and I thought that was a bit distateful [even though I'm not religious].

I lost patience with Eurovision when we first became the Billy No Mates of Europe but it's still a laugh.

What's the betting next year we try a BIG BALLAD only to find the others have have gone back to Boom Bang a Bang ditties. hmm

Agus

Kenny Everett. grin

See it can make you laugh.

Think I've finally lost patience with Eurovision. Have taken it on the chin in previous years because we didn't have songs that were good enough anyway, but we had a good song and she performed it incredibly well. I'm fine with the Netherlands and Sweden getting a lot of votes; they were good songs but the one that won was dire sad.

We caught the end of this and I thought it was Kenny Everett

merlot grin

Time to take some sleeping powder!

POGS Sat 10-May-14 23:29:10

To be fair even the UK voted for Austria to win. Not me, grrr.

It was political, yes but a hell of a lot better than usual.

It's all sport don't you know. [sod it emoticon]. grin

Aka Sat 10-May-14 23:28:31

I've turned off and will find out later what's happened, but did anyone really expect anything different this year?

merlotgran Sat 10-May-14 23:22:54

I thought Ukraine had already voted.

Must pay attention.

gillybob Sat 10-May-14 23:22:16

It is really beyond a joke isn't it?

I was kinda thinking of having a reverse contest and voting for the worst possible country thinking ha ha ha you will have to fund this farce next year! grin

merlotgran Sat 10-May-14 23:20:49

Spain obviously still wants us to go there for our holidays and the Queen must have put on a good 'do' for Ireland.

Ana Sat 10-May-14 23:16:34

And the UK continues to give substantial funding to this farcial 'contest'...angry

glassortwo Sat 10-May-14 23:14:39

My DH old Grandad used to say it was a fix in the old days so he will now be turning in his grave. shock

gillybob Sat 10-May-14 23:11:37

Can't bear it any longer!!!!!!!!!

Grrrrrrrrr angry angry angry

POGS Sat 10-May-14 22:57:10

No points from Malta. We're doomed Captain Mannering. grin

merlotgran Sat 10-May-14 22:47:47

Ukraine gives Russia 12 points.

It's not political at all hmm

papaoscar Sat 10-May-14 22:42:18

If I were 50 years younger I'd be out there with them rocking and rolling the night away. Now its time for my cup of cocoa before the voting starts.

numberplease Sat 10-May-14 22:38:38

Or the fairy on the Christmas tree! I have Sweden as first, and Spain second, but I`m always wrong.

merlotgran Sat 10-May-14 22:33:04

The woman presenter reminds me of the ballerina inside the musical box I had when I was 10.

Ana Sat 10-May-14 22:32:11

I didn't think they were 'all very good'! That one about moustaches...hmm Most of them sounded so similar (although I admit I had the sound turned down).

Aka Sat 10-May-14 22:17:20

OMG..... Just tuned and they're singing a song about the number 12? What planet am I on?
