Have a go here

I'm Tom Branson which is just as well seeing as I do all the driving!!

Ana Thu 09-Jan-14 13:52:08

Two heads are better than one...wink

newist Thu 09-Jan-14 13:38:01

You will be equal head cook, 2 head cooks?

Elegran Thu 09-Jan-14 13:23:27

I seem to be Mrs Patmore. As I don't watch Downton Abbey, I have no idea what her job is. Would I be any help in the kitchen, Newist ?

Nonu Thu 09-Jan-14 12:45:31

Oh I do, I do, you may rest assured I will speak with Mama and explain your situation . That you are finding it frightfully difficult to manage in that kitchen alone .
This smoked salmon is quite delicious incidentally .

HappyNanna Thu 09-Jan-14 12:26:08

I don't watch the programme, but know a little about it. I've come out as Carson. After just a quick scroll down the replies, there don't seem to be many of us. And yes, it is the wrong sex! Oh well, I suppose I do like to wear the trousers!

newist Thu 09-Jan-14 12:21:35

When I collect the eggs, go to the smokehouse to get some salmon, I shall do scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast, if you don't mind waiting for the bread to come out of the oven, just for you, as you appreciate the work I am doing smile

Nonu Thu 09-Jan-14 12:13:37

Not you *Newist you are a fragrant little flower .
Still wouldn't mind a bit of tiffin though , could you rustle up something a little light for me . have to watch my waistline , don"t cha know !
cupcake not one these though !

newist Thu 09-Jan-14 11:52:20

I know, as I am still the only member of staff to be actually working in the kitchen, does revolting apply to me confused

Nonu Thu 09-Jan-14 11:26:03

Cripes Granny23 Would not go far as to say they revolting , in fact they seem quite a nice bunch to me. best be careful as they could be ear-wigging , and don"t forget they are in charge of what we eat .
L O L .

newist Thu 09-Jan-14 10:25:29

There is no Daisy!! only me!!

Iam64 Thu 09-Jan-14 08:05:27

No no Kitty, if you go with Tom, there will be no 'nipping'. Even we stoical Dowager's may begin to acknowledge pangs of hunger as you will be away so long.

kittylester Thu 09-Jan-14 07:25:56

Well, I'm run off my feet trying to get all these ladies dressed but I'm happy to nip to the take away with Tom! [coyemoticon]

Iam64 Thu 09-Jan-14 07:08:54

As one of the many Dowager Duchesses here, can I just say, we Edwardian ladies never wilt. and certainly don't have fainting fits as some on this thread have suggested. I shall have a word with Carson, who will speak to Mrs Hughes, who will then speak to Mrs Patsmore, and ensure that she and Daisy organise luncheon with not further delay. Revolting servants, sniff, Carson must be losing his touch.

Gally Thu 09-Jan-14 03:31:28

grin

Granny23 Thu 09-Jan-14 03:12:17

Its Anna here, M'Lady, with a message from Lady Mary. Could you please invite everyone down to the lodge for lunch as they are starving and the kitchen staff are revolting. I need to hurry home to the cottage to perform wifely duties for Master Bates grin

Gally Thu 09-Jan-14 02:37:23

Surprisingly wink I am Violet, Dowager Duchess of Grantham. I always fancied myself as Maggie Smith!

newist Wed 08-Jan-14 23:44:04

That is Tom's job grin

merlotgran Wed 08-Jan-14 23:40:13

Where's the nearest takeaway?? I don't mind driving there.

newist Wed 08-Jan-14 23:37:19

Everyone upstairs seems to be having fainting fits due to hunger and as I seem to be the only one on all of GN which has the qualifications to be head cook, I just thought Tom, being a "very nice man" would get stuck in, in an emergency

Ana Wed 08-Jan-14 23:16:32

Maggiemaybe - that's all well and good, but what about us Upstairs lot? We wouldn't mind a few hobbledehoys as long as they could cook us lunch....[starving emoticon]

merlotgran Wed 08-Jan-14 23:14:10

newist. I'm (Tom) shocked! What can you possibly have in mind. shock wink

Maggiemaybe Wed 08-Jan-14 23:04:33

Don't let's be hasty. As my alter ego Carson once made perfectly clear, there is no room for young hobbledehoys amongst the Downton Abbey staff. If I knew what they were, I'm sure I'd agree with him. [add stiffupperlip emoticon] confused

newist Wed 08-Jan-14 20:49:56

I shall see if Tom Branson will get stuck in and give a hand. wink

Ana Wed 08-Jan-14 20:25:39

newist - you're the cook...hmm I'm sure you could persuade Mrs Hughes to give you a hand, but we dowagers are wilting like lilies up here...[fanning emoticon]

Nonu Wed 08-Jan-14 19:54:41

Don"T forget also lady Mary likes a bit of scoff from time to time !!
smile demurely
