I don't think so annodomini but know what you mean! It's the leaner meaner older brother of Midsomer and I do hope it won't go on and on and lose it's looks and develop flab.
I must confess that in a certain mood I can watch and quite enjoy Midsomer, especially as it is filmed near me, but normally I prefer slightly grittier stuff.
