If the person who has performed the best or improved the most should win, then it certainly isn't Natalie who has remained consistently near perfect right from the start, and that's why the public do not like it or do not vote for her.
The winner could be any one of the remaining four, my bet is on Abbey, I just wish she didn't act so childishly. Personally I admire Sophie, she is so modest in her achievement. Well done of course to Susanna and the best of luck next week. Lets hear it for the older woman. Yay!!

annodomini Sun 15-Dec-13 20:13:31

She does deserve her place in the final. She has progressed wonderfully since the competition started. It's obvious that the public has suspicions about Natalie who has been the judges' front runner all the way. Having said that, the other finalists have all started from a much lower base and proved themselves worthy of a position in the final. Sad about Patrick, but someone had to go.

Lona Sun 15-Dec-13 20:13:29

Too smug by half!

Ana Sun 15-Dec-13 20:06:58

Meant to add that I don't think the public has warmed to Natalie at all, and the fact that she was already a trained dancer put them off her even more!

Lona Sun 15-Dec-13 20:06:25

Well, if they (Susanna and Patrick) had been......the result would have been the same!

Ana Sun 15-Dec-13 20:05:39

It's the same every year, though. People vote for the person they like best, which is not necessarily the person who has performed the best or improved the most.

moomin Sun 15-Dec-13 19:59:30

What a fiasco! What on earth were Natalie and Artem doing in the dance off?? A perfect score by the judges (who we presume actually know something about dancing!) for one of their dances?

Susannah and Patrick should have been in the dance off.

jinglbellrocks Sun 15-Dec-13 19:54:22

The public are definitely not voting on the quality of the dancing. Sorry, but Susanna should have gone out. IMO of course.

Aka Sun 15-Dec-13 19:51:08

Natalie should never have been in the dance off.

GrandmaMiney Sun 15-Dec-13 19:48:40

Just-- thank you for all the positive comments. My skin isn't that thick and I know some will say it's not fair--it's a dancing competition. But I do believe DD does deserve her place in the final--for the infectious joy of learning to dance (a bit) that she has brought to this series. I guess that's what many have voted for, and I just hope we get to see the Kevanna Paso Doble again next week. smile

whenim64 Sun 15-Dec-13 19:33:45

We'll done, Susanna. What a fantastic achievement, especially as she has not trained as a dancer and is that little bit older. The judges have commented a few times that she has developed the most from beginning the competition.

merlotgran Sun 15-Dec-13 19:29:26

Wow! Susanna must be thrilled to be in the final. tchgrin

Grandmanorm Sun 15-Dec-13 19:25:23

Yippee, Susannah is through. Much relief I expect for GrandmaM
Ah the power of the public!!!

Aka Sun 15-Dec-13 19:25:05

What a farce.

rosesarered Sun 15-Dec-13 10:43:25

the 2 dances I enjoyed most were Susannas foxtrot, marvellous and such fun, and Abbys prom themed dance. I think there will be 4 couples in the final?

Charleygirl Sun 15-Dec-13 10:25:16

Another vote from me. I just hope that the votes from "us lot" keep Susanna out of the bottom two because she could well do without an extra dance if she is not feeling well.

I would love to see Natalie shown the door but I have a feeling that if she were in the dance off, she would win.

Lona Sun 15-Dec-13 09:58:39

GrandmaM I don't know how Susanna is even standing let alone dancing!
She deserves a medal for dedication and enthusiasm and all with such a happy smiling face. You must be so proud of her.

GrandmaMiney Sun 15-Dec-13 09:55:28

I agree, Sophie and Abbey have both developed beautifully.
I have to admit that DD's day job and 400 mile round trips several times a week have limited her practice time, plus her age (let's hear it for 'older women'!) are all beginning to show. My fingers are crossed for her for tonight.
But they're all doing their best--and having the time of their lives and it is a joy to behold sunshine

Lona Sun 15-Dec-13 08:40:51

I thought Sophie and Brendan's dance was stunning and she's developed so much. She was really enjoying her second dance.

I hope that Natalie isn't in the top three. I don't think she's improved on the way she danced at the beginning. The others have all done so much better.

Oldgreymare Sun 15-Dec-13 07:36:41

Do they have 3 in the final, hmm if so I would like to see Susanna, Abby and Sophie. Natalie and Artem get on my toot!Artem pins on his sickly smile and his dancing is frenetic..... but what do I know? Patrick has peaked.

Deedaa Sat 14-Dec-13 23:10:33

If Susannah has got the same infection as my DH she's a REAL trooper - he's hardly been able to get out of a chair, never mind dance!
I can't begin to guess who the winner will be. They are all so close and some of the choreography has been stunning.

GrandmaMiney Sat 14-Dec-13 20:37:54

You are all the stars of Gransnet, for DD and for me, thank you flowers
Another nail biting time until tomorrow. She's on antibiotics for a chest infection but is so enjoying SCD, and SO appreciates all the support for Team Kevanna, that she was determined to give it her all, and smile her way through it. Whatever Craig makes of her facial expressions, I think they boost her energy levels!
Here's some wine for all of you smile.
As she's second from bottom of the leader board I think I might need a brandy in my Horlicks tonight to help me get some sleep. Please keep fingers and toes crossed for the chance to be, I think, the oldest 'lady' in the SCD finals.

Grandmanorm Sat 14-Dec-13 20:26:29

wine for GM Great article in The Times magazine today about Susannah, what a busy life she has. I have voted for her x 3.

annodomini Sat 14-Dec-13 20:21:56

I thought Kevanna's salsa looked so much more fun than Natalie and Artem's perfect one. Isn't that what salsa is all about? Here's to the final, Susanna! wine and a double G&T for GM.

merlotgran Sat 14-Dec-13 19:25:40

Great score. Well done, Susanna! tchgrin wine
