It's over feetle
Is it over? Is it really over? Oh please say it's over... :-)
Well done to everyone in the final. I think Abbey was the best on the night but I really enjoyed Susanna's show dance too. Have a good break now Grandmaminey but don't forget to visit us on the other threads.
GrandmaMiney I hope you and your family have a lovely restfull Christmas after all the SCD hard work. However with three lovely boys I don't suppose for a minute it will be.
Well done to Susanna for all her hard work. I voted for her and Abby and think that the right person won, but it would have been good if all three could have been joint winners.
Of only!!!!!!!
Can't wait for the Strictly Tour to come to The Echo Arena in Liverpool we went the year before last and it was amazing, its on 23rd of January so something nice to look forward to,well done Abbie on winning and she is sure to get a huge welcome home reception when the show arrives here.
All the forty something women in my family, DD, DIL,niece etc., posted on facebook last night saying much the same as Oldgreymare. Within seconds all their friends were 'liking' the comments. I bet there was a huge amount of support for Susanna from hard working mums who also love a chance to glam up and have fun.
I'd forgotten about the Strictly tour. I bet Susanna and Kevin will go down a storm.
I do hope that Susanna is having a rest from the day job tomorrow- she deserves it. I agree that Natalie was technically the best dancer-but.
Susanna's Paso Doble was fabulous and was an excellent choice for her last dance with Kevin from Grimsby. Abbey was a worthy winner because like Susanna, she had not danced before. I think that all of the finalists went out on a high.
What am I going to do on Saturday evenings now?
Good to see Susanna on the front page of a Sunday paper this morning - just caught a quick glimpse as it was being shown on the Andrew Marr programme.
It was a wonderful final and so nice to see YOU Grandmaminey with your lovely grandsons on tv! Susanna went out on a high, as did the other 2 contestants, as there can only be one winner. Abby was my second choice as well, after Susanna, so very graceful and improved so much. What is amazing is how everbody gets so addicted to dance, they start thinking 'oh, a bit of fun on tv' and then get into it in a way that surprises them.It must take hours to get all the fake tan, sparkles and hair extensions off [and that's only the men! ha-ha.] I have really enjoyed this last series. You can take a well deserved break from nerves now Grandmaminey and I hope you have a lovely Christmas.
Couldn't resist coming on again this morning. I feel strangely calm after all the excitement, anxiety, fun etc of the last 4 months. (Although the SCD tour starts on 17 January, so I'm back on G'ma duty then, for 4 weeks).
Even the Gransnet aspect of this journey has been incredible--supportive, and another 'social media' learning curve.
I thank you all, every single one of you, for helping me on this journey.
This forum has been of great interest for all its posts about the dancers, 'celebs', hosts, etc and as I've never really watched SCD much before, that has also been fascinating.
The understanding post-final comments, like Oldgreymares brought me to tears. To know that many of you have seen through the fake tan and glitz (and hair extensions that they all have!) and 'know' DD as the loving, hardworking person that she is, means more to both of us than the Glitterball.
Have a wonderful Christmas, and a good New Year xx
They were all wonderful on the night. I did think Abbey was a worthy winner, as her dancing was very beautiful, but any one of the four could have won. GrandmaMiney, your Susanna was amazing, you must be so proud of her (though I'm guessing you'd be just as proud if she'd been knocked out in week one - our children don't have to be winners for us to love them and be proud of them, do they). A big well done! to all four finalists.
Well, I did record the prog and watched it later so was able to skip over the bits I knew I wouldn't like! (Don't ask.)
Very fed up when Sophie went and Natalie remained ( I know Natalie is 'technically' a good dancer but.......)
In the final, Susanna was amazing as was Abbey.
GrandmaMiney you have a wonderful daughter a super role-model for 40+ working Mums juggling jobs and families so successfully that her family remain cherished and loved and her work is exemplary.
Big hugs to you this morning for being a loving and supportive Mum.
I really couldn't have put a pin between the four of them! I'm glad Abbey won because she looked so lovely - and I think it must be rather nice for her to develop a real talent instead of just being known as a footballer's wife. Wonderful that Susannah got to the final three AND got to do her Paso Doble! A great final all round!
I meant the programme as a whole really Hunt, not the contestants. I realise they have to just go along with it.
I think the best dancer won in the end, but that doesn't take away from the efforts of the other finalists. Was sad to see Sophie go out. She is beautiful.
Glad Susanna managed to do her Pasa Doble, it was brilliant, and loved what I thought were hair extensions. Natalie was the best really but obviously not popular with the public because of her past professional training, so the most improved dancer won, and well deserved congratulations to Abbey.
They only do that,Lona, because someone keeps asking them. What else can they say. They all seem to be sincere. Thought it was all lovely.
They were all great, but I wish they didn't keep droning on about how fantastic and wonderful etc.........
Once or twice maybe but that was just toooo much!
but honestly there was nothing to choose between the 3 of them in the end. Susanna was a fantastic competitor and you can be so very very proud of her!!
Phew! That was exciting!
She did very well.
Happy Xmas to all.
It's been quite a night!
I am SO proud of DD, she did so well, despite workload, injuries, chest infection, and 'no whinging'! She had the time of her life, and absolutely loved being with Kevin (from Grimsby, in case you didn't know).
I'm sure the 'Right Thing' happened, and I'm glad Abbey won, she's a lovely girl, a beautiful dancer, and my second choice.
A very happy Christmas to you all, and thank you
Thank you, Susanna for getting through to the end and giving us all so much enjoyment every Saturday night.
GrandmaMiney, You must be very proud.
Congratulations to Abbey who is a great dancer.
Grandmaminey you can have your life back now, and some wonderful memories
I think the best dancer won, but Susanna is the person I like most. You can relax now 'Mum'! She did you proud.
I am so pleased that Abby has won the final. Totally justified and my personal favorite from day one.
