What a shame - neither of the couples should have been in the dance off.

GrandmaMiney Sun 27-Oct-13 20:39:43

I agree with all of the above on page 9--the dance off between Patrick and Deborah should never have been.
As merlotgran says 'Cynical...moi?'
Yes, and me too.
I'm trying so hard to outgrow my cynicism--not an attractive feature-- but sometimes there is no choice! grin

Lona Sun 27-Oct-13 20:23:03

I don't vote so I can't complain.......................but I will............ why Rachel hasn't gone I don't know, and Dave M is just too hairy!
Poor Deborah and Robin, both so upset.

GrandmaMiney Sun 27-Oct-13 20:02:43

I am SO distressed that Deborah is off--she brought such enjoyment and energy--I am disillusioned....the dance-off was--well, words fail me.shock

annodomini Sun 27-Oct-13 19:59:09

Patrick was much better in the dance off - his hip action and shimmies were more pronounced than in last night's performance. Yes, he deserved to win but neither couple should have been in the dance off. I agree, BAnanas - a travesty. Poor Robin was clearly very upset - they were such a well matched couple.

merlotgran Sun 27-Oct-13 19:58:49

Poor Deborah. That's one half decent dancer got rid of and a couple of duffers left who will soon be weeded out anyway. I think they have a game plan for how the competition will run.

Cynical...moi?

Good that Susanna is through though. smile

Grandmanorm Sun 27-Oct-13 19:57:30

The hairy biker should be ashamed of himself staying on when he is rubbish. It has happened like this before and I too wonder about the voting.

BAnanas Sun 27-Oct-13 19:55:39

merlotgran, Patrick is a serious contender and was the clear winner, but Deborah was worthy of at least a couple of more weeks. Travesty! Neither should have been in the dance off, in my opinion.

Ana Sun 27-Oct-13 19:52:50

Poor Deborah - she was really upset...sad

merlotgran Sun 27-Oct-13 19:49:28

I can't believe it either, BAnanas. Dave Myers should go.

Not sure I believe the voting results now. hmm

BAnanas Sun 27-Oct-13 19:46:41

Patrick and Deborah in the dance off, how come???? surely should be hairy biker and Rachel.

BAnanas Sun 27-Oct-13 12:38:27

Yeah Ben as lovely as he is, the only serious contenders among the men seem to be Patrick and Ashley this year, the women seem to be out performing them.

Lona Sun 27-Oct-13 11:27:14

kitty Well..............[tonguestickyoutemo].................we'll see!!!
#I'mplayingdirty!

kittylester Sun 27-Oct-13 11:07:13

I've recorded it so that I can watch BIg Ben - he's gorgeous - but I saw him first Lona. thlgrin

annodomini Sun 27-Oct-13 10:57:19

I agree that poor Rachel's make-up this weekend was horrible - how to make an English rose look like a Spanish vamp. NOT!

Charleygirl Sun 27-Oct-13 10:23:50

Lewis Smith was a trained gymnast and spent many hours exercising, training etc. Ben also has to be fit whereas the likes of Rachel, Deborah and Susanna certainly do not need to be ultra fit to do their jobs.

Lona Sun 27-Oct-13 10:22:28

I missed it last night, but I love big Ben! wink

annodomini Sun 27-Oct-13 10:12:35

Remember that the trained dancers don't always - in fact, seldom - win. Lewis Smith, who won last year, became proficient in a very short time. The same can be said of previous winners like Mark Ramprakash and Darren Gough. If they're anything to go by, our money should be on Big Ben who is making steady progress.

Grannyknot Sun 27-Oct-13 10:09:22

Okay, scrap that, I've just scrolled back. Wow GM, I really think she's in with a chance smile.

Charleygirl Sun 27-Oct-13 10:08:00

Natalie apparently danced professionally until she was 19 years old and then I think started acting. A very unfair advantage when many started with two left feet and are progressing weekly.

Pushing tables around is just time wasting, Robin should know better. I totally agree with Len.

Grannyknot Sun 27-Oct-13 09:59:01

Grandma Miney, do you have a DD actually taking part? How exciting! (Sorry if it's come out before, I've not read the whole thread).

gillybob Sun 27-Oct-13 08:52:40

I agree with you about Deborah's routine "sliding the table around" Gagagran there seems to be a lot of time wasting going on this year. Len mentioned the popcorn throwing episode too didn't he?

It just doesn't seem fair though does it BAnanas ? Some of the contestants are starting from zero and improving every week and the likes of Natalie and Denise Van Outen (last year) are trained dancers and favourites to win from day one.

BAnanas Sun 27-Oct-13 08:38:34

I know gillybob, I did read that Natalie is a trained dancer, the same with Denise Van Outen last year, it does give them an edge over the rest, although DVO did point out that many had been to stage school where dance would have been a large part of their courses. Not the same as starting from zero experience I agree.

Gagagran Sun 27-Oct-13 08:32:07

Well much as I like Deborah I thought the routine was dire! It was supposed to be a Viennese Waltz not a "let's slide the table around" dance. I think Robin let her down with that choreography. Not keen on the music they (the prducers?) choose either.

gillybob Sun 27-Oct-13 08:31:23

Oh there are demons at work today. First my post appeared, then disappeared. Spooky or what? thlconfused
