Anyone else find this a lovely lively programme?

dahlia Sat 22-Jun-13 16:58:28

Sure do! I have to turn down the sound over the credits however, they're deafening. My favourite part is "This is ..." - how they keep the stories going when they're not true is brilliant. Loved the German guy on last night, think I have heard him on Radio 4's "The Unbelievable Truth", another of my favourites.
We used to enjoy "Have I got News for You" but it seemed to be more and more vitriolic and less witty as the months by, and in the end we just turned it off.

I love it, and I love Lee Mack, I think he is very funny.

merlotgran Sat 22-Jun-13 18:14:01

I think Lee Mack is quite sexy hmm

Ana Sat 22-Jun-13 18:29:36

I, too, have a secret crush on Lee Mack blush
At least, it was secret...

shysal Sat 22-Jun-13 18:30:14

I love it, and the fact that it can be hilarious without swearing.

Ella46 Sat 22-Jun-13 20:15:12

He's mine first! grin

Can't always remember names but is he the man writing and starring in Not going Out? If so I must watch.

NfkDumpling Sat 22-Jun-13 20:56:13

Yes Envious Lee Mack. I can't understand it either, but he has a certain something...... !

Ella46 Sat 22-Jun-13 21:33:58

Well, it wouldn't do if we all liked the same type, there wouldn't be enough to go around! grin

Ana Sat 22-Jun-13 22:04:53

Not sure there's enough of Lee Mack to go round! (No rude suggestions from you, thank you Ella! grin)

Enviousamerican Sat 22-Jun-13 22:07:45

Vive la diff'erence grin

I'm with you there Shysal it is good to watch a witty programme without what seems to be the essential 'f' word, it is very clever too. Not sure if it is rehearsed but if it is then it is really clever to appear so spontaneous.

Sorry forgot to say Annsixty Lee Mack is the same Lee Mack who appears in 'Not going out' which I also enjoy but it is a bit silly at times - and again no foul language, always a plus for me.

Ella46 Sun 23-Jun-13 08:48:46

'Not Going Out' has lost a certain silliness since Miranda Hart and Tim Vine have not appeared in the current series.

Aka Sun 23-Jun-13 09:37:49

Yes, love the repartee between the two 'captains' and the fellow in the middle! Having a bad brain day, what's their names?

Aka Sun 23-Jun-13 09:39:12

PS Agree with you Ella. I'm not a great Amanda Hart fan but she brought something special to 'Not Going Out' which is missing since she left.

kittylester Sun 23-Jun-13 10:42:13

Rob Brydon is the 'fellow in the middle' AKA and David Mitchell and Lee Mack are the captains.

I love the programme and think Rob Brydon is really funny. We saw him at the Edinburgh Fringe one year with Dh's brother and his wife who's relationship wasn't going too well. It was during his 'Taxi Driver' period and the whole sketch was about marriage breakdowns, which Bil and Sil didn't enjoy and we daren't. Bil and Sil recently celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary so it turned out ok despite Rob Brydon.

And, just to be clear, I saw Lee Mack first!!

Ana Sun 23-Jun-13 10:46:59

All's fair...etc., kitty! wink

Ella46 Sun 23-Jun-13 14:12:11

kitty My dad's BIGGER than your dad!! grin

Aka Sun 23-Jun-13 14:44:29

Thanks Kitty I'm pretty useless on names even on a good day. Not too hot on faces either. I actually thought that Rob Brydon was that detective chappy on 'Murder in Paradise' confused for ages.

kittylester Sun 23-Jun-13 15:09:05

Aka they do look alike, don't they? I've forgotten his name but he was really good when he was in partnership with the gorgeous Alexander Armstrong - maybe his name is Ben Miller? He was in a comedy series with Sarah Alexander(?), which also included Alison Steadman, where he played a hapless groom to be.

Bet I've confused everyone now! That's just so you forget that Lee Mack is mine! grin

henetha Sun 23-Jun-13 15:18:47

LOVE 'Would I lie to You' and everyone in it.... I can watch Rob Brydon in absolutely anything. Like Lee Mack, but all you above can have him...
not my type. Prefer David Mitchell...
