I was wondering do you take offense to her Nan character? Its so shocking but funny to me. Makes you wonder if there is a woman that acts like that. Makes me feel like a kid that laughs at bathroom humour.Do you find it funny at all?Her other stuff I don't enjoy. I guess younger people find it funny though.

Is it possible to turn TVs off? Why watch stuff you don't like? confused

I think she's very funny. I love her characters. I know several Nans. My DH mother is one. She's a totally selfish, two faced old lady with a mouth that could put a navvy to shame.

Envious was only asking what we thought of her, Bagssmile
I think Catherine Tate's very clever Envious, and her Nan character rings truewink

Yes, I know, jane, but I still don't understand why people watch stuff they don't like. However, each to their own. I know I'm a complete weirdo not having a TV (in most people's eyes) smile

But envious didn't say she didn't like Catherine Tate!!!!
She was asking if there really were old British women like Catherine Tate's character!

I guess I misread "her other stuff I don't find funny". It was only five past six! wink

Just ignore me, envious – pre-coffee brain dead! smile

Do you switch "her other stuff" off? wink

Don't like her so don't watch her. So there, Bags!

Keep me on the straight and narrow, jane smile

envious; if you're referring to the comedy series she used to do I'd have to get the memory working because I don't think she's had a series on tv over here for quite a while [she started appearing in Dr Who].But, from memory, I didn't like the granny character. I liked the 'I can do that' character and used to bore people stupid at work whenever I learned something new on the pooter that they were having problems with [didn't happen very often] by leaping around saying 'I can do that!' Never liked the Little Britain 'Ai'maladee' character either [although I didn't mind Vicky Pollard]. Loved Harry Enfields 'old ladies' [that's going back a bit]; ditto Mrs Browns Boys. Maybe [for me] she needed to be a bloke playing the part for it to work confused. It wasn't the way she portrayed old ladies but more that the actual content wasn't funny; more 'let's get a laugh by swearing a lot but not much else'.

Thsnks,I had just seen outtakes of her specials shows on u-tube doing her different characters. She had also done a Christmas special and she was Scrooge in the christmas carol with David Tennent.
