She`s brilliant, but no matter how good the song, or who sings it, the rest of the countries just don`t like the UK, simples.

True. hmm

The only way they'll get a decent score is if they put One Direction in - apparently they are world famous as the number one boy band, and adored in over 80 countries. I don't know what's worse - them or Bonnie Tyler! grin

She was on Woman's hour a couple of years ago. Not lost her Mumbles (Swansea) accent. A victory for the middle aged methinks. And Total Eclipse was one of the all time great pop songs... If only they could find one as good for the eurovision...

Kathrine Zeta Jones did lose hers.
Fond memories of Dawn French "doing her" . I swear Dawn must have spent a week hanging out in the White Rose to get that accent nailed so precisely. (You will appreciate it is different to other parts of Swansea!)
"An the Oscars is great - you gets to borrow posh frocks! And you gets to keep em!!!" LOL

People actually watch the Eurovision song contest ?

gillybob Fri 08-Mar-13 13:27:44

I agree with numberplease it really doesn't matter who our entry is or how catchy the song is. The voting is crazy with countries voting for each other as though they were picking their "bestest friends". smile

I know it is only meant as a bit of fun but really what is the point?

j08 Fri 08-Mar-13 14:20:14

harrigran do you find anything enjoyable to watch on the telly?

HildaW Fri 08-Mar-13 15:15:28

Harrigran, I believe some do in a sort of post ironic sort of way.....some even have parties to celebrate. Must admit I used to quite like to hear the comments Terry Wogan used to make........with his tongue very much in his cheek.
