Oh! I think I have been writing the script myself! Sorry for getting it completely wrong! grin

Nelliemoser Don't want to spoil the omnibus for you? I reckon the nail in the coffin was brought about by Masood's smashing of Zainab's precious water feature thingy

Goose Sat 09-Feb-13 19:28:52

westmidlandsmamba that should be Kirsty, one of his wives, not Tanya, the other wifeconfused

Nelliemoser Sat 09-Feb-13 19:15:53

So what was the final nail in the coffin of Masood and Zainabs relationship? Or will I have to warth the ominbus edition?

Goose Sat 09-Feb-13 19:04:26

westmidlandsmamba Max was beaten up by one of the blokes Tanya went to stay with after she left him (can't work out if it's her brother/boyfriend - or possibly another husbandgrin) Max went round there to 'rescue' her -

Oh, I think that was someone he owed money to. Someone bent and unscrupulous. His (now dead) brother Derek arranged it. (the loan not the beating up. More to it than that but I zoned out.

westmidlandsmamba Sat 09-Feb-13 18:46:48

who beat up Max Branning? Missed that episode.

Haven't watched it since Dirty Den got shot!! Sorry but all soaps just leave me cold. I used to work with people who had hardly any conversation except for what was happening in the various soaps (I don't think GNs are like that!!).

I feel the same about so called "reality programmes" - reality my a***.

OK I'll get me coat!

j08 Sat 09-Feb-13 12:46:26

Oh, and their little boy was so sweet! Better than Oscar. Shame he has gone.

j08 Sat 09-Feb-13 12:02:44

grin

Goose Sat 09-Feb-13 11:57:33

j08 It makes more sense than the actual script! have you ever thought of going into scriptwriting?smile

j08 Sat 09-Feb-13 11:11:27

I don't think that actually makes complete sense. But you get the gist.

j08 Sat 09-Feb-13 11:11:02

He was killed in a fire wasn't he? (the former lover (who was a doctor)). And Tamwar got burnt because he thought his young wife was inside and went to rescue her. She wasn't actually inside so Tamwar nearly died for no reason. It was Zainab's fault because she let everyone believe no one was inside. Because the now hated lover was inside and she didn't want him rescued. She didn't know Tamwar was in there.

Can't remember!

Nelliemoser Sat 09-Feb-13 09:53:50

I watched for many years. I liked this family but why on earth do Eastenders script writers have to destroy most of their characters. Yes bad stuff happens to people but not on the overegged melodramatic way in does in East Enders.

I stopped watching about two years ago because I just began to hate the constant barrage of the same stories of doom and gloom going around in a loop with totally unrealistic scenarios.

I will stick to Ambridge! There is rather more humour a lot less melodrama.

Yes to Massood is lovely and I liked Zainab. I was aware of her fling with a former husband? which ended in disaster and the couple seemed to reconcile. Can anyone tell me briefly what led to the final breaking point?

j08 Sat 09-Feb-13 09:26:34

Oh yes. Love little Tamwar!

Yes. Agree about Christian too.

PRINTMISS Sat 09-Feb-13 09:02:10

I am just pleased we shall not have to hear any more from Zainab, and hopefully no more 'doe-eyes' from Masood. Bring back Christian !

kittylester Sat 09-Feb-13 08:54:43

It's not really is it jingle?

I'd really miss Tamwar if he went.

j08 Sat 09-Feb-13 08:47:45

I used to love him. I really hate him now!

Must remember it's just a story! grin

j08 Sat 09-Feb-13 08:44:39

I don't understand why she didn't get angry and kick him out!

Very emotional episode tonight, I was in tears with them! Much as I love Masood, I can`t see how the family will survive in Eastenders without Zainab, she was the kingpin of the family. There`s only Masood and Tamwar left, unless you count his daft brother, I`m hoping that he won`t be staying very long.

dorsetpennt Thu 07-Feb-13 09:11:42

PS love Masood

Another mention of arguments taking place on GN - are these really arguments or just heated discussions? [I always think of the Monty Python sketch - 'is this a 5 minute argument or the full 15 minutes?']
People will disagree, that's what makes us human and interesting. As long as there are no personal or abusive comments are some people just being a bit sensitive. Gosh my family loves an argument - one early memory is sitting at the Sunday lunch with my parents and grandparents arguing and laughing. Mind you we do have a strong Irish inheritage.

feetlebaum Thu 07-Feb-13 09:07:24

I saw the very first episode... and then swore never, ever, to watch it again... miserable - and badly lit, too...

annodomini Thu 07-Feb-13 08:47:02

When I was still working, I devised a module for my Access students called 'Soaps and Society' which gave them - and me - a perfect excuse for watching them. However, once I retired, I'd had more than enough of Eastenders. Nothing good ever seemed to happen to anyone and there wasn't much humour left in it. I still miss Brookside though.
