I shall be glued to BBC2 tonight. Monty in a fetching hat, wandering around the gardens of France. OOOer!

Ella, DH was very relieved when I commented on the green hair matching the shirt as he thought his dodgy eyesight was getting worse.

There have been some great characters in this series.

Let us know if you have any luck with the Beeb, granjura. You might have a team of willing helpers if Monty turns up. grin

granjura, oh good idea! Monty in the Alps would make a lovely programme. Weve visited Austria in the summer and that is glorious too.

I must write to him and invite him to my high altitude garden and wild meadow in Switzerland. Our garden in on a slope, and I have tons of large limestone rocks and half an old limestone sink. I want to make a water feature with water falling onto the old sink then cascade down to the pond, with a limestone rock garden on each side - I'm sure he and the Beeb would love to come and give me a hand smile smile smile

Yes I agree Hilda, just looking at a lovely garden in the sunshine makes me feel better sunshine

Ella46, yes the Italian series was excellent, but this one certainly made for a pleasant hours telly given the rubbish thats usually on.

I think I preferred the Italian series on the whole. I felt Monty was indulging his arty side a little too much for me, but I loved the man who had planted the 'hanging garden', with the aquarium underfoot.
His green hair matching his green shirt!

Hasn't this been a lovely series? Not sure about that cubist garden but the others were stunning.

GW back next week. Yeeehah!! grin

Merlotgran, yes she was wonderful, I liked the way she included the, invisible to us, camera man etc. We went to Villandry a few years ago and it was lovely, but as Monty stated, just a little artificial. Shame it all goes to waste!

Ella46 Fri 08-Feb-13 22:51:53

How shocking that all those vegetables are just thrown away!

merlotgran Fri 08-Feb-13 22:29:08

Loved tonight's episode. I've never been a fan of potagers. My own attempt a few years ago looked great until I started yanking out lettuce and spring onions etc., then it looked ridiculous. The woman with the allotment was a gem. I wish we could have had a close up of what was in those bags she gave Monty.

Oh dont worry Tegan - its more a cerebral attraction for me nowadays, and in any case its well known that he is delightfully besotted with his wife.

NfkDumpling Sat 02-Feb-13 19:51:20

That's ok, he can't cope with too many of us.

Tegan Sat 02-Feb-13 19:24:23

confused he doesn't do it for me, I'm afraid. I'm trying to think of my 'gardener of choice', but I don't have one.

NfkDumpling Sat 02-Feb-13 19:14:18

What 2CV?

Grannylin Sat 02-Feb-13 18:44:39

Did anyone notice the gardens?I was very distracted by 1) Monty 2) the 2CV grin

Butty Sat 02-Feb-13 18:24:44

Back-off the lot of you - he's mine! grin

Ella46 Sat 02-Feb-13 18:08:12

Don't stand in front of me soop, I can't be responsible for my actions! grin

soop Sat 02-Feb-13 15:44:47

Monty for me too. May I join the disorderly queue, or is a free-for-all? grin

HildaW Sat 02-Feb-13 14:43:57
