If you didn't watch this last night, you REALLY should watch it now

You WILL laugh out loud. Several times All of the way through.

Made half hour on exercise bike seem like three minutes! grin

Just read the book and found it light and funny too. You would have to know the show to appreciate it.

I`ve never watched Miranda, although after seeing clips from the shows, I wish I had, hopefully they`ll all be repeated. I think she`s great on Call the Midwife.

Thanks for that j07 I missed it last night as I was at friends, just watched it now and enjoyed it very much!

I have just watched it. It's great. I'm the only one in the family who likes her, DH can't stand her. She really makes me laugh out loud.

tried to watch her show but cannot find it funny - depends on your sense of humour I suppose.
Now the early series of The Big Bang Theory (before they seemed to lose the very funny script-writing and introduced the 'women') that has me laughing out loud (rare for me as it disconcerts the dog grin)

We always watch it and laugh our heads off and I'm sure I could hear my grandaughter cheering all the way from Gosport when Miranda finally got together with Gary. We then watched Lewis on +1 and found ourselves cheering when Lewis finally got together with Laura the pathologist. A good night for romance smile

I really like her, the show is a bit slapstick, she does fall off chairs and fences a bit too often, and it does meander into the realms of silliness quite a bit, but on the whole she makes me laugh and Miranda has a feel good factor about it and sometimes that's all you want.

I'm in the anti-Miranda camp. Something about her sets my teeth on edge.

mollie65 Sat 02-Feb-13 08:48:31

annodomini yes my teeth are twitching to. I think it is the predictability of the slapstick, the facial expressions and the script. She is better as an actress/actor in my opinion.
glad it is not just me who wonders why she is so highly rated in her sitcom.

feetlebaum Sat 02-Feb-13 09:09:51

She is so highly rated because she makes people laugh... The show is a return to the less malevolent entertainment of the past, a more traditional relationship with an audience.

I like it.

And Mrs Brown's Boys...

mollie65 Sat 02-Feb-13 14:57:24

some people find her funny no doubt - but I expect I am allowed to disagree and not be the only one.
perhaps because I remember old time slapstick comedy, the carry on films and Frankie Howerd's asides to the audience I get a distinct sense of deja vu. There are lots of non-malevolent comedy shows on which are not quite so predictable.
I stand by my previous comment re The Big Bang Theory which while American is not malevolent, is well scripted and very funny.

I do like Miranda Hart and think she's funny, and I enjoyed the first series (or was it two?) of Miranda. This time it is seeming a bit tired and predictable, and that squeaky sidekick of hers in the show really irritates me!

Movedalot Sat 02-Feb-13 15:45:49

Such Fun grin

Ana Sat 02-Feb-13 15:57:15

grin No, not that one! The very small blonde...

j07 Sat 02-Feb-13 16:03:54

She's good. Grin gotta do emos the long way as am on Fire.

j07 Sat 02-Feb-13 16:05:03

Like it when Miranda pushes her over.

Marelli Sat 02-Feb-13 16:06:18

feetlebaum - I love Mrs Brown's boys - and Miranda. I've always been quite clumsy and I'm tall.....maybe that's why I like her. Perhaps I'm identifying with her grin

Ana Sat 02-Feb-13 16:06:55

I love it when you're on Fire jingl! grin

j07 Sat 02-Feb-13 16:08:53

j07 Sat 02-Feb-13 16:13:03

I have only very recently realised that Mrs Brown is a man. (thick)

merlotgran Sat 02-Feb-13 16:14:45

You should have gone to Specsavers, Jingle grin

Marelli Sat 02-Feb-13 16:15:23

She (he) reminds me of my late mother-in-law. grin

Marelli Sat 02-Feb-13 16:16:13
