I'm literally going to sit on the sofa until Christmas Eve. Got flu can't go and see the family for Christmas. Just as well Merlin is there to provided a bright spot.
I think, Arthur should have survived with a piece of sword in him that would one day kill him - that would solve the prophesy thing. I wanted to see Merlin back in Camelot as a warlock. Poor old Arthur had only been king for about ten minutes. I can't imagine why the BBC didn't ask me. I'd have sorted it out for them
Lots of GN's speak of Merlin so I thought I would see what it was about, I watched about 10 mins of it but it wasn't for me so attempted to turn it over but was not allowed to as DH was watching with me and he wanted to watch it til the end!!
Ella46 I know how you feel when you say you are sad when it finishes because I feel that way about a programme that I like and when I said that to DH he said don't be sad just look forward to the next one, that helped me hope it help you..
Mischief, I see what you mean about Mr Stink though I think he was marginally less disreputable than the Merlin we saw at the end, trudging up the road!
I always say a good film or series is one that stays with you and, when it ends it's like losing a dear friend. Having said that I've never seen Merlin but I could actually watch it all from the beginning [although I now know the end]. I should like it because I used to live in Tintagel in the shadow of the castle and was very wrapped up in the myth and legend surrounding it.
broomsticks, they didn't really use much of the Arthurian legend. It was very much Arthur and Merlin 'lite'. Better to read Bernard Cornwell's Arthur novels, to get a flavour of the legend and of the time in which it's assumed to have originated.
