This Merlin was a thing apart. Although the legend did sneak in a little bit at the end.

Googled him. Bloomin nice lifestyle he has . I know someone that used to work as an extra on Sharpes Rifles. Not relevant at all but just thought I'd slip it in.

I've never read the Sharpe novels! Don't know why. I like his historical English stuff.

one picture's not enough

I didn't really like the Bernard Cornwell Arthur ones (I'm more for The Once and Future King or the Crystal Cave and Hollow Hills version). I love Sharpe and the Anglo Saxon Cornwell novels though. The Anglo Saxon ones have a complete homicidal idiot as the hero but he's very sympathetic somehow
and I've learned a lot about the history.

Really interesting programme called The Making of King Arthur on BBC4 last night [well, actually early this morning]. It's a repeat but it's on iplayer for a few more days.

Yes crimson. DD texted me this morning about that one. Must catch it on i player. And In Our Time on radio 4 this morning, with Melvyn Bragg, was about the history of the legend. It's seems to be in fashion at the moment.
