Greatnan if you think the women newsreaders always exhibit gravitas, listen to the following link of Charlotte Green's famous giggles:

I miss Sian Williams on BBC Breakfast.

Oh, for the gravitas of the women on Radio 4! All we get on TV news are twitterers. I hate the whole format of a man and a woman sitting on a settee and taking turns to read the autocue. Put one person behind a desk again!

I'm not sure whether I notice this more since BBC Breakfast moved to Salford or whether it wasn't quite like this in London (the camera angles rather than the presenters who are often the same people). The female presenters wear short but not tiny skirts. The real problem is that that they sit on the sofa with their knees crossed – did no one ever tell them not to do this? Consequently, a considerable length of at least one thigh is exposed and recently we were treated to an, albeit brief, glimpse of someone's knickers. Today, we were treated to Susannah Reid smacking her legs with her hands in "excitement".I really don't want this when I have just got out of bed and am trying to catch up 0n world events.
