I'm anticipating howls of protest but I love, love, love, Strictly Come Dancing.
So this thread is for all things Strictly. Can't wait!!!!

Notsogrand Sun 30-Oct-11 22:18:29

Phew!

At last ...the 'correct' result!! smile

But ...do I now avoid tomorrow's It takes two ...so don't have to suffer her 'conversation? hmm

Annobel Sun 30-Oct-11 20:02:48

Hurrah! Anton is free at last! wine

gracesmum Sun 30-Oct-11 20:01:32

Nail-biting........ and the couple going home is (boom, boom, boom....) Oh Thank you God of Strictly!! Nancy - at last!!!!

Annobel Sun 30-Oct-11 19:35:42

No, Hattie, I don't think you're being a misery. I agree about the themed nights. The Broadway one was OK, but the Halloween theme descended into silliness and was pretty tacky, in my opinion. Harry is my favourite now. He seems a very pleasant boy with neither airs nor false modesty. Well brought up, I'd say! Oh, and a good dancer. smile

Hattie64 Sun 30-Oct-11 19:07:14

This year, first ever, I don't have any favourites at all. I do get the impression that poor Chelseeee is a bit 'gormless' in fact I am curious how she became an actress??? I do wonder if Nancy is also non too bright, doesn't say much for Trevor Nunn, she is allegedly a lawyer, well I think that is what she said on Graham Norton. Jason is a good dancer, but how boring he is, takes himself so seriously, I really hope he doesn't win. I do like Anita though, and hope she dances on for a few weeks, not good enough to win. In fact all the dancers are pretty bland, perhaps there are a few too many 'older' ones in this years show. Actually I don't think I am enjoying it as much this year. I hope they stop the themed nights, fed up with all that messing about. Blimey I sound like a right misery!!!

jinglej Sun 30-Oct-11 18:36:47

susieb, Last night's show was great! shock

jinglej Sun 30-Oct-11 18:34:53

That's what I thought Notso. She didn't exactly take advantage of the scarf. I suppose it could have felt dodgy when she was throwing herself around and couldn't keep hitching up.

I heard she had 'em enlarged. hmm

nanachrissy Sun 30-Oct-11 17:08:15

How do they get away with it on Strictly? I thought there was a huge fuss about Rhianna (or someone) being too raunchy early evening on crap X factor not long ago? confused

numberplease Sun 30-Oct-11 17:00:04

I enjoyed last night`s show, apart from the aforementioned "groinage" episode. It was definitely uncalled for in a show that goes out so early in the evening, and wouldn`t have impressed me anyway, at any time of day. He aint exactly superstud!

gracesmum Sun 30-Oct-11 16:02:48

Apart from that susiecb glad you enjoyed it!!grin grin

Jacey Sun 30-Oct-11 15:42:55

OK susiecb and Notsogrand ...this would be a good time for the [can't stop laughing] emocion that GNHQ still hasn't provided!! smile

But still think there was more 'good' than 'bad' in last night's show. Might change my mind though once we know what happened last nigt in tonight's show confused

Notsogrand Sun 30-Oct-11 11:23:07

I don't think Arsenal (sorry Chelsee) was too bothered about boobage exposure. As she ran to the top of the steps, someone draped a chiffon scarf around her neck to preserve her modesty, but she didn't seem to take advantage of the offer.

Off to find saucer of milk now.

Love the word groinage! It sounds like something from a drain or soakaway system.

nanachrissy Sun 30-Oct-11 11:00:56

I'm afraid I agree with you Susiecb. If you have your boobs enlarged but are embarrassed by them...?? COVER THEM UP!! The judges seem to be biased in Jason's favour, not sure why. The costumes this year have been either dire or very pretty( mainly dire!) I am getting fed up with it and I never thought I'd say that! shock

Annobel Sun 30-Oct-11 09:40:53

Jacey that's what I've heard, but of course can't vouch for it. Do they look real to you? Certainly older photos don't seem to show so much superstructure.

susiecb Sun 30-Oct-11 09:20:36

I have loved Stricitly up until now but last nights offering was dire!! I can really do without some chavvy has-been footballer shoving his proably inadequate groinage like a cut price porn star into the camera in what is supposed to be a family show, Anton has a 'please rescue me' look on his face as he tries to drop that silly woman on her nut, the loud Waterloo Road girl was 'in tears' when her boobage dropped out of her dress, Jason oiled his way round the floor like the profesionally trained dancer he is having been in a number of musicals, that nice girl Holly was made to look like a fairy elephant in the Swan Lake number. As for the panel - sack the lot of them- highly inconstistent marking and comments and they are boring - dont get me started on Atishoo or whatever her name is. The only interesting part of this show is the orchestra and the singers- or is it my diet that's making me crabby?smile

glammanana Sun 30-Oct-11 00:01:20

Granny23 the word here in Liverpool is "shut your gob"

Granny23 Sat 29-Oct-11 23:36:41

I simply cannot stand the way that Jason and Russell dance around with their mouths hanging open. Smile, scowl or look haughty depending on the dance but please shut your !!*!!*!! mouth.shock

Jacey Sat 29-Oct-11 23:09:02

Annobel ...have I read these posts correctly ...Chelsee has had two alterations ...lips and 'boobage'?? confused

Annobel Sat 29-Oct-11 22:51:12

I gather that the 'boobage' (nice word, Hilda) is also enhanced. Why do that at her age? Or any age, really!

glammanana Sat 29-Oct-11 22:44:29

You have got to give Nancy some credit for being such a D list celebrity and the fool she make's of herself, even whilst the dancer's are being interviewed whilst awaiting the score's she never has the politness to stop talking or messing with her costume or hair what an awful woman she is and she certainly does not at all appear attractive to me,and gracesmum you where spot on with your post tonight.

Notsogrand Sat 29-Oct-11 22:41:06

I'm not sure why, but Jason's getting on my nerves a bit. He's almost the exact opposite of Nancy. She's a hopeless dancer but can't seem to accept it. He's an excellent dancer and seems a bit too falsely modest about it.

Overall, a really good show tonight. smile

gracesmum Sat 29-Oct-11 22:38:54

Oh so that trout pout is "surgically enhanced"? She needs to get her money back, poor girl I thought it was a birth defect. She is a great dancer though and DH (who doesn't watch TV you understand) thinks she will win the final!

HildaW Sat 29-Oct-11 22:27:36

Annobel, no its not just you she sort of rambles around a subject. However, every week there is a clip of her saying how hard it is 'on live tv'............er what did she think it was?

Poor little Chelsee had quite a scare, a lot of boobage can almost be a handicap. I suddenly woke up at 16 with a huge pair and have spent all my life having to choose my clothing with extra care so that my heavy duty underpinnings are well hidden. I certainly would have sent that dress back to the wardrobe for wider straps and a bit more support. But bless her, shes grown on me. She really works hard, wears any old thing for rehearsal and is getting better and better. Its just such a shame shes felt the need to have her lips done at her age. I'd never watched the programme shes in but I did see the early phots of her when she was introduced and thought what a pretty girl she had been.
