I'm anticipating howls of protest but I love, love, love, Strictly Come Dancing.
So this thread is for all things Strictly. Can't wait!!!!

There was one of them in the last lot that definitely had had too much done and couldn't smile properly. Can't remember who it was now though.

jinglejangle Sat 01-Oct-11 09:35:24

Oh yes. She's got personality!

Annobel Sat 01-Oct-11 09:29:07

Uh, huh, that crossed my mind too jj (hope you don't mind the abbreviation). Anita looks far more natural for her age, and far more glamorous, imho.

jinglejangle Sat 01-Oct-11 09:26:19

Sorry I pressed wrong keys to bold the name there.

Still waking up, me! grin

Jacey Sat 01-Oct-11 09:23:52

Does anyone know why Holly had to dance last night, instead of Alex?

jinglejangle Sat 01-Oct-11 08:58:40

That's just how she looked in the trailer for the show "Annobel", like a rabbit caught in headlamps. You don't think it could be down to too much "work" on the old face do you? grin (miaow) grin

I don't mean "old" old, iyswim.

Annobel Sat 01-Oct-11 08:50:02

I didn't think Lulu was enjoying herself at all. She had a fixed look about her - the rabbit in the headlights thing. Her feet just didn't know where they were! Looking forward to tonight's show. I have a feeling that Alex Jones could be a dark horse.

I really enjoyed tonight`s programme, li8ked Anita, Dan, Holly and Russell, Lulu was rubbish!

Wise as ever Annobel! Why stop at two incongruities?

Annobel Fri 30-Sept-11 23:19:03

Rocker/astrophysicist is an odd enough juxtaposition, so why not get in among the sequins as well? I bet Brian Cox would, given half a chance...now there's a thought...hmm

em Fri 30-Sept-11 22:54:33

Still finding it a bit odd to see Brian May in the audience. Well done supportive husband, but find rocker/astrophysicist a bit out of place amongst the sequins!

jinglejangle Fri 30-Sept-11 22:47:44

I didn't realise she was married to him! I think she could win.

Annobel Fri 30-Sept-11 22:41:18

Anita seems to have taken over where Pamela left off. Hope she keeps it up. Great to see husband, Brian May, in the audience.

em Fri 30-Sept-11 22:40:20

OOps! Definitely round one to Anita and wooden spoon to Lulu. Never mind, lots of time left. Didn't like red button commentary - prefer to hear the music. Occasional comment on technique may be ok but Katie Brand clearly saw this spot as just another gig!

jinglejangle Fri 30-Sept-11 22:31:53

Wow! Lulu doesn't stand a chance against Anita, does she! smile

And wasn't Russell great! grin

Jacey Fri 30-Sept-11 22:21:38

Did anyone else try the red button 'dance commentary'? Thought they both liked the sound of their own voices and I couldn't hear the music!! confused
After about 30 secs I gave up on it!

But will hold judgement on dancers until after tomorrows offering hmm

granto7 Fri 30-Sept-11 22:21:03

Thankyou notso NOW I understand

Notsogrand Fri 30-Sept-11 22:14:57

Strictly Come Dancing gran! The first programme has just finished! smile

granto7 Fri 30-Sept-11 21:11:24

Notso I'm having a quiet time ,but wondered 10 mins to what. Think Ive missed something!!!!

Notsogrand Fri 30-Sept-11 20:55:35

Ten minutes. Da Da Da Da, Da Da Daaa......

em Fri 30-Sept-11 20:52:11

Yes - not seriously into sport but thought most of the sportsmen did well on the dancefloor - better than the women. Have several rugby-mad men in the family and a daughter too. Will keep a friendly eye on the World Cup but won't get too worked up.

Annobel Fri 30-Sept-11 20:29:48

Perhaps you are, em, though there's no rugby star in Strictly this year. They've been pretty good in the past. Can't forget Matt Dawson in pink lycra or Austin Healey's Paso. And what about Kenny Logan doing the Paso in a skimpy kilt! Oh yes, there's quite a crossover between rugby and Strictly. grin

em Fri 30-Sept-11 19:53:30

Notso my GS is too little for your wonderful threats but I so want to store them away until I can use them!! I see a new interest emerging - Lulu (representing Scotland) V Anita (London, so representing England) or have I got confused with the rugby, Annobel?

Annobel Fri 30-Sept-11 18:46:00

Have they got those hand-held things? Nintendo something or other? You could tell them to bring something with them to amuse them. hmm

Notsogrand Fri 30-Sept-11 18:27:27

Mmmm. That's not a bribe though, more of a threat. Never mind, whatever works. wink
