I'm anticipating howls of protest but I love, love, love, Strictly Come Dancing.
So this thread is for all things Strictly. Can't wait!!!!

Dreadful result...... Rory was superb last week whereas Nancy is consistently awful. Wish I'd bothered to vote now!!! sad

grandmaagain Sun 23-Oct-11 22:45:31

I think everyone was feeling the pressure and not dancing as well as usual this week. next week should be very good as the halloween special will give everybody a "lift". I particullaly enjoyed Flavia and Vincent"s Argentine tango they are really superb dancers.Shame about Rory thoshock

gracesmum Sun 23-Oct-11 21:22:22

Travesty - how do we know that the auduence vote is genuine and not engineered by the Beeb to keep the viewing figures up? Remeber the telephone votes scandal of a couple of years ago?
I was devastated for poor Rory - and that woman is not evn entertaining in what Craig describes as a "sado masochistic way. Shame on you Strictly !angry

People are obviously voting for Anton, I think he`s great, but Nancy, YUCK! Get`er off!!

Annobel Sun 23-Oct-11 20:12:21

I'm speechless - can't believe it. Rory doesn't deserve that. sad

nanachrissy Sun 23-Oct-11 20:08:12

Why Rory? It could have been Anita, Audley, Lulu or NANCY! What's going on? confused

nanachrissy Sun 23-Oct-11 20:05:37

Noooooooooo!

shysal Sun 23-Oct-11 20:03:31

I can't believe it! Nancy is still in.sad

I find James infuriating, I dislike him intently. He is aggressive and rude towards the judges, and he isn't that great with his celebrity either with his dance routines. He used to be bolshy, then last year he seemed to improve, but this year ugg awful. I think Nancy yet again was the worst dancer, lets hope she gets the chop. I wasn't too keen on Chelsea, but she seems to be growing on me and her dancing last night was excellent. My favourite though is Robbie Savage, he admits that he is not great, but a 'great girls blouse' . Still not keen on Lulu though.

Jacey Sun 23-Oct-11 18:45:57

No numberplease, like shysal's idea better

Perhaps James should be given the 'no hoper' next year instead of lovely Anton

numberplease Sun 23-Oct-11 18:13:38

Keep Brucie and swap Tess for Anton!

MrsJamJam Sun 23-Oct-11 17:52:56

Ooh yes - I'd definitely vote to swap Brucie for Anton. No contest!

shysal Sun 23-Oct-11 17:46:25

I also record the show so that I can skip the bits between dances and judging.

I should like to see Brucie dumped and replaced by Anton for the next series.

Annobel Sun 23-Oct-11 17:09:36

I do agree, Notso. What a waste of time those 'location' shots are. I like to record the programme and fast forward over those bits.

Notsogrand Sun 23-Oct-11 17:01:51

Anyone else not impressed by the new '...and here they are in training' clips? Very little training shown, but increasingly, faked-up situations and silly faffing. At least the Robbie & Ola thing at the football ground was real, most of the rest of them were just silly. Strictly producers please take note: We don't need the programme dumbed down to the level of many other reality tv shows!

numberplease Sun 23-Oct-11 16:51:10

Last night it seemed as if half of them had come to an agreement to do part of their dance on the stairs!

Jacey Sun 23-Oct-11 11:41:19

yes nanachrissy ...at least Craig differentiates with his marking ...even if James doesn't like it!!

Only think Alisha gave a 10 to compensate for Len's comments. hmm

At least it looks ...on paper...as if the public vote may have an impact this time.

I wish they'd tell us how the public are voting ...found it quite interesting when ITV did it ...at one point with the Ice Dancing show earlier this year.

nanachrissy Sun 23-Oct-11 11:32:58

Getting fed up with the judges, apart from Craig they hardly reflect the standard of the dancing at all. Len has voted 7 too many times for me! Also, they do seem very biased. confused

Jacey Sun 23-Oct-11 11:21:44

I see you're in the christmas spirit early gracesmum

But going back to your earlier post about Nancy ...think a lot of people are voting for Anton ...as think he's got a raw deal again. And he is one of the nicer professionalssmile

gracesmum Sun 23-Oct-11 11:03:05

Apart from Chelsee (how I hate deliberate mis-spellings, assuming it si) I felt last night's Strictly had plateaued and I was not impressed. I do enjoy, however, watching the competitiors in the background when Tess is interviewing the couple who have just danced. Guess who looks as if she really couldn't be bothered to be there?
Could competitiors also be any more humble about how they are doing this for their families and how great "people" are (Russell) - how wonderful it is to "meet people" etc. Where has he been for the rest of his life - a hermit in a cave? In the rainforest communing only with monkeys and parrots?
Bah humbug! grin

jinglej Sun 23-Oct-11 10:33:02

Perhaps I had better add, as I seem to have shocked you all into silence, that she did quickly add "Some people keep them as pets and love them very much".

jinglej Sat 22-Oct-11 22:27:53

shock

My daughter walked in the door today, took one look at me and said, "hello my little pot-bellied pig"! shock So perhaps I had better start leaping about a bit! hmm

Annobel Sat 22-Oct-11 22:08:16

Jason came off his pedestal tonight! But he's sure to be back there again soon. Good for Chelsee - that quickstep was high octane! And Craig had high praise for it, so it must have been perfect. I am sure the judges are trying to get rid of Nancy - hope they'll succeed this week.

Jacey Sat 22-Oct-11 20:55:11

Yes ...I must admit jj was the one I had in mind too! grin

Sbagran Sat 22-Oct-11 20:44:44

Got to be jingly-jangly!!! grin
