I'm anticipating howls of protest but I love, love, love, Strictly Come Dancing.
So this thread is for all things Strictly. Can't wait!!!!

Funny isn't it? We are all being quite vociferous about the Nancy woman but none of us is actually voting her off. Maybe we should go for it this Saturday and we might just manage to dislodge her with our 'block vote'.

numberplease Mon 24-Oct-11 21:42:14

It would be easier maybe, if we could vote her off, but we`re actually voting to keep folk on, so it needs people to NOT vote for Nancy.

Jacey Mon 24-Oct-11 21:49:51

Well ..everyone I've spoken to agrees with us ...I've not found anyone who has admitted voting for her ...so perhaps gracesmum has a point when she posted about the trustworthiness of the voting system confused

yes Annobel ...I do vote ...but not normally until the later stages of the series. Doesn't part of the cost of the call go to "Children in Need"?

Wouldn't they make a lot of money with a negative vote!! grin

em Mon 24-Oct-11 22:20:15

Sorry numberplease - was being remarkably dim there, wasn't I? You're right and my attempt at conspiracy was a non-starter! We'll just have to wish she falls flat on her face. Mind you it is the Hallowe'en show and I'm sure she'll make an excellent witch........miaow

numberplease Mon 24-Oct-11 22:25:43

LOL!!!!

HildaW Tue 25-Oct-11 11:19:25

em....have you thought......perhaps there are folks out there voting for her just to see her fall flat on her face? wink

dontcallmegramps Wed 26-Oct-11 07:48:29

I had my doubts about Nancy but am warming to her
The Doting Grandma says " I know what you mean by "warming" to her "... and then rolls her eyes skyward

Annobel Wed 26-Oct-11 08:36:47

Ah! Now we know who's voting for Nancy! grin

dontcallmegramps Wed 26-Oct-11 09:37:09

I'm not allowed to vote Annobel! NOT ALLOWED
Since the trauma of last year's phone bill after it was revealed the Doting Grandma spent £50 voting for Kara Tointon there is an "agreement" that ONE vote per week is allowed by the Doting Grandma - who last week voted for Chelsee ( you just don't know how much my stomach turns spelling out that in typing though I think she is really good -such a Manc)

numberplease Wed 26-Oct-11 16:12:26

On It Takes Two last night, I saw a bit of Saturday`s programme that I must have missed, Nancy saying "we`re very near to being very good"!! Who is she trying to kid?

Annobel Fri 28-Oct-11 23:21:57

Nancy is on the Graham Norton Show and I can hardly understand a word she says. Graham is also confused, though Joanna Lumley is making an attempt to communicate. Her English really is garbled. Maybe better in Swedish? hmm

HildaW Sat 29-Oct-11 11:46:11

Annobel, I saw that, Grahams face was a picture she was quite unintelligable. Its amazing that someone, who is supposed to be intelligent has so little undertsnading of how she is perceived by the public.

Annobel Sat 29-Oct-11 12:07:47

Doesn't the woman realise that the more exposure she gets, the more she is making a fool of herself? Rhetorical question - of course she doesn't. She has no self-awareness.

Annobel Sat 29-Oct-11 12:10:36

And what on earth does Sir Trevor Nunn see in her? No! Don't answer that, grandads, please.

Jacey Sat 29-Oct-11 21:03:36

Well ...some good dances tonight ...interestingly ...those who did 'ballroom' have all come out on top.

The last couple of weeks the couple in 11th place have exited ...guess who's there tonight?? smile

em Sat 29-Oct-11 21:08:22

Enjoyed most of the show but surely now the woman must see that even Anton has run out of patience. A good comment and she takes credit, while a bad one means it's Anton's fault!!

gracesmum Sat 29-Oct-11 21:27:52

Fright night!!
Am I alone in thinking that Nancy had turned up in her normal clothes and make-up? (Miaow)
She dances as if she has had several too many - I wonder if she can walk in a straight line!!

Annobel Sat 29-Oct-11 22:06:09

I wish the wardrobe department had given Chelsee a dress that actually fitted her. Poor kid didn't have the experience or the aplomb to cope with a bit of slippage. Mind you, I didn't notice it at the time, so ran it back to see what the fuss was about and it was very hard to spot even when I was looking for it.

Quote from Wiki re.Nancy:
'In December 2008, Dell'Olio was interviewed on the BBC news analysis programme Newsnight, but, according to interviewer Jeremy Paxman, no one could understand what she said.'
So it isn't just me!

jinglej Sat 29-Oct-11 22:20:37

I think it's time they sacked the wardrobe mistress!

grandmaagain Sat 29-Oct-11 22:25:57

absolutley loved the show tonight the whole production team deserve a huge pat on the back, good saturday night entrtainment. I did"nt notice the slippage in Chelsee"s dress. really hope not too much is made of that, the poor girl was so upset. otherwise super costumes, makeup and splendid choreography, even thought Nancy improved! and I don"t usually like her at all!!

HildaW Sat 29-Oct-11 22:27:36

Annobel, no its not just you she sort of rambles around a subject. However, every week there is a clip of her saying how hard it is 'on live tv'............er what did she think it was?

Poor little Chelsee had quite a scare, a lot of boobage can almost be a handicap. I suddenly woke up at 16 with a huge pair and have spent all my life having to choose my clothing with extra care so that my heavy duty underpinnings are well hidden. I certainly would have sent that dress back to the wardrobe for wider straps and a bit more support. But bless her, shes grown on me. She really works hard, wears any old thing for rehearsal and is getting better and better. Its just such a shame shes felt the need to have her lips done at her age. I'd never watched the programme shes in but I did see the early phots of her when she was introduced and thought what a pretty girl she had been.

gracesmum Sat 29-Oct-11 22:38:54

Oh so that trout pout is "surgically enhanced"? She needs to get her money back, poor girl I thought it was a birth defect. She is a great dancer though and DH (who doesn't watch TV you understand) thinks she will win the final!

Notsogrand Sat 29-Oct-11 22:41:06

I'm not sure why, but Jason's getting on my nerves a bit. He's almost the exact opposite of Nancy. She's a hopeless dancer but can't seem to accept it. He's an excellent dancer and seems a bit too falsely modest about it.

Overall, a really good show tonight. smile

glammanana Sat 29-Oct-11 22:44:29

You have got to give Nancy some credit for being such a D list celebrity and the fool she make's of herself, even whilst the dancer's are being interviewed whilst awaiting the score's she never has the politness to stop talking or messing with her costume or hair what an awful woman she is and she certainly does not at all appear attractive to me,and gracesmum you where spot on with your post tonight.

Annobel Sat 29-Oct-11 22:51:12

I gather that the 'boobage' (nice word, Hilda) is also enhanced. Why do that at her age? Or any age, really!
