Solo Cruising

I haven't and wouldn't but I have one single friend who does it all the time and loves it.

Cruising doesn’t appeal to me at all but I have single friends who do go regularly alone

My mum had a friend who did this and loved it.
She often chose the same vessel and got to know some of the staff.

She said it was"home away from home" and went probably 2 or 3 times a year.

If you like cruising I'd go for it.

A friend ours has done this for many years, always single, daddy sold a lot of land for development in the 1970s, she spends it cruising.
Everything is laid out for her, sit at a different table each night, go on an excursion or not as you choose every day, crew are paid to be nice to you.

I recommend www.passionforcruises.co.uk/. Been on a few cruises, no problems and throughly enjoyed. Good prices for solo travelers.

I did it some months after I was widowed, I wanted to be looked after and chose saga and was picked up at my front door. It cost an arm and a leg and gave me the break I needed.

We cruise with Fred Olsen and they seem to make solo travellers welcome with meet ups and the chance to sit together in the main dining rooms.

I’m a friendly person and have been travelling solo for ages, however as costs have been rising I’ve come to the conclusion that occupying a so called single cabin isn’t value for money.

I have also thought about cruising solo as I know the solo cruise community is huge.

I have recently joined a solo cruise community facebook page which share great tips on cruising solo and also great solo prices.

I read the title of the thread and my first thought was it was about sailing single handed around the world. Then I had a second thought.

You did make me laugh MOnica. At least it doesn’t mean cruising round the park late at night looking for company 😳🤪

The cruises I’ve been on have specific get together’s for solo cruisers which is a great way to meet new people, make friends, chat and get to know fellow passengers. There was a solo passenger on our dining table almost every evening last year, she had been doing it for years since losing her husband. They were long term cruisers so she was on the highest tier of peninsular club and received LOTS of perks.
