Packing cube dilemma

I don't much see the point of cubes as you've only got to unpack them once you get there (so they're just several bags inside one big bag). I make a list of what I'll be doing when I'm away and another list of clothes I'll actually need. As I work through my stay, I re-pack into my empty suitcase anything that needs washing. Once home, I unpack and wash everything - which I'd have to do regardless, whether I used cubes or not.

No need to unpack the cubes, just lift them out and place them in drawers or wardrobe at your destination.

The only things I totally unpack would be dresses or shirts which need to be hung up to lose their creases.

I also take a spare to put dirty items in which speeds up packing on return.

Mesh ones are extremely light. Like GF13 l highly recommend them. Keeps everything organised, less creased and l tend to keep most things in them. I really didn't think they'd be much good but I'd never travel without them.

I use mesh packing cubes, they way next to nothing and as they are mesh you can see what is inside each one.

Thoroughly recommend using them.

I’ve heard many people singing the praises of packing cubes and saying how much easier they make keeping organised when on holiday. Organisation is something I definitely need as I’m partially sighted. However I also need to keep my luggage as light as possible as I’m arthritic so am concerned that cubes will add to the weight of my bag. What do Gransnetters think?
