Snootiness about holiday destinations

Do you find there can a be a ‘snootiness’ about certain holiday destinations? I was with a group of people recently and mentioned we’re about to go to on holiday to Lanzarote, a place we love. One of the group looked right down her nose and said ‘Oh that wouldn’t be my idea of a holiday, but I suppose there’s plenty of fish and chip shops there’! I asked if she’d ever been to Lanzarote … no, she hasn’t; she prefers a gite in rural France.

It seems to me there’s a snobbery about some places. Doesn’t bother me ‘cos I love Lanzarote - it’s got far more about it than people realise😎🌞💃🏻
