My friend and I were planning to stay at the Mermaid Inn, in Kent (I think) which is supposed to be haunted. We never got to go there but I would have enjoyed it, if we had.
Wasn't it a well known film director? As I recall, he said that he didn't encounter a ghost but felt the atmosphere was oppressive. I didn't think he had moved room
I am an avid reader of trip advisor before booking any hotel and found a review like none I had seen before. I was looking at the Norwood Hall hotel in Aberdeen where we have already visited and found a review that was quite different from the usual dirty bathrooms etc.. This person was complaining about ghostly happenings in the night . They ended up being moved to another wing of the hotel in the night . Now this is an old building so perhaps not unexpected but I loved the hotels reply. They said that most guests found the ghosts friendle and it did not bother them . By the way the room is number 7 should you care to try it yourself.
