Recommendations of where to go in Norfolk

Another thing if you like to shop and do find yourself in Norwich there are some lovely independent, unusual shops down Norwich Lanes, not so far from Strangers Hall, Norwich Cathedral. My favourite tea shop is there,

Not forgetting Jarrolds department store, family run, owned store.

I rather like the market, too. There is a lovely spice stall. Jarrolds is lovely.

Cromer was bracing when we visited but lovely. We had a crab salad in a little tea shop yum. We had a lovely boat trip on the Broads too.

We have much appreciated our part of Norfolk this summer, with the wide spaces, beaches and skies. We are much in the news with the Wales's moving into Anmer Hall soon, suddenly this is the place to be!.....
Try walking out to Thornham Beach before returning to the Lifeboat Inn, owned by Marco Pierre White , or Thornham Deli for a delicious cake and coffee.
The Duck Inn at Stanhoe is now very popular for food as well as the Dabbling Duck at Gt Massingham, a very pretty village.
I am biased of course, as I live nearby!

I'm now feeling very guilty, I forget that area, I have friends with a lovely hotel there! Oh dear...

It's in partnership with Best Western, the Le Strange Arms hotel in Old Hunstanton. Very near a lovely stretch of beach and with lots to do. There is a pub attached as well as a quiet bar. Wellies by the door in case you need them.

A walk through Sandringham estate is lovely. And East Ruston amazing , how to they get all those plants to grow so huge? There's a lovely village called Castle Acre near Swaffham has castle ruins, lovely walks and some nice pubs and tea rooms.

Oh, I know the Le Strange Arms! Our DS kite-surfs off the beach at Old Hunstanton and DiL, DGS, dog and I retreat there for coffee and grub.
It's about an hours drive from Cromer - near me - double that if you take the coast road. Hunstanton might be an alternative place to stay. There's a lot to do around there too.

Castle Acre is also home to one of my favourite plant nurseries, in the lovely walled gardens of an ancient pile that is now a conference centre.

East Ruston plants are only so huge because they have grown a massive windbreak on all the sides that the wind comes from the most strongly. It's a very protected garden.

And it may only be small, but the little museum at Cromer is interesting to visit.

NFK probably about a week. That's if husband can make up his mind and actually commit to a date!

Then you're best to just do North Norfolk (East Ruston, Broads, Holt, Wells) and Norwich, and save West Norfolk (Hunstanton, Holkham, Sandringham, Kings Lynn) for next time!
