Travel insurance

You could try Staysure, (www.staysure.co.uk), they cover over 50s with pre-existing medical conditions. We've been with them for a few years now and their prices are reasonable. They do single trip or annual policies.

I was just quoted £105 extra charge from one company for a single trip for my husband's well-under-control asthma and borderline high cholesterol. I shopped elsewhere and Aegeas covered both conditions without extra payment - they have a clear and pretty generous health declaration and if you can agree to it, everything is covered. You do have to declare heart conditions, but I think their weighting will be reasonable in view of the above.

I have been with Staysure and they are great at taking the money but have waited two months for claim to be paid and am still waiting.
Although I have had both cataract surgery and surgery for a retinal detachment in the last year got a good deal from Insure and go.
