Drones!

I know there is a lot of controversy about drones but I just saw a video of one called a life preserver drone, its like a heavy duty rubber ring. Wow! A life guard noticing someone in trouble off the beach can send the drone instantly out and can drop it right over their head for support till someone can get to them. Very impressive.

Apparently, the emergency services use them to get first aid supplies to casualties ahead of a rescue team……….think mountain rescue and inaccessible locations.

It's good to know they can be put such a good use and I'm sure they are in many instances. I just get annoyed when members of Joe Public use them irresponsibly such as the person who flew one close to Gatwick Airport not so long ago and got the whole place shut down for part of the day. Absolute chaos and massive costs involved in rerouting planes, cancelling landing slots and delaying flights all down to an idiot.
