Printers with refillable ink tanks

I too have an Epson ET-2720 and am very pleased with it, also much cheaper to run.

Another recommendation for the Epson ecotank type printer. More expensive to buy, but much, much cheaper to run. Refilling only needed every couple of years, in my case, and I do a fair bit of printing. May need to run "cleaning" cycle occasionally .

I don’t know how it compares with the refillable cartridges but I use HP instant ink. I am on the 100 pages a month plan and usually use about that much. It reports back to HP and they send you cartridges as you need them. What I find is I hardly ever need a new cartridge, perhaps every six months if that. It has made me realise how little ink must be in the cartridges that you buy because I was buying every two to three months before.

Assuming you just have the one wi-fi network ... it could just be a random error state that would clear if you reboot all the devices. Or it may be that the printer software drivers need to be updated. I do think that printers are prone to issuing random and spurious error messages!

Whilst on the subject of printers, I actually have two, both connected by wi fi to my laptop. One was my husband’s and it is in his study. It is now giving me a message to connect it to wi fi but is still working. I am puzzled. Any thoughts please?

It is the Epson-ET 2710. The only problem I had with it was connecting it to my WiFi and using it with my phone as I no longer have a computer or laptop, just a phone. All the instructions assumed you had a laptop or computer. However I found out how to do it online and it works brilliantly.

Thank you ladies, it sounds as though I will be able to cope. I don’t do a massive amount of printing myself but I often copy and print for friends and the cost does add up. -Salti which printer do you have? I put together a Book of the Year for my dgd each year so photo printing is important to me.

It is easier than changing cartridges. They only fit in the right colour. They don't let you overfill. I've only filled mine once in two years. I used to be changing cartridges at least once every two months. Mine also print excellent photos.

She has never complained about it but I haven't watched her do it. Sorry

I have an Epson Eco printer ET2750. It's a few years old now and there are newer models but the refill mechanism will be the same or similar. I do a lot of colour printing and it is very economical.

Physical refilling is very easy. There are four reservoirs for black, yellow, magenta and cyan. You simply slot the bottles into the tops of the reservoirs. You can see the ink levels on the front of the printer. This video shows how it's down.

Has saved us a small fortune.

The ink tanks dont need replacing very often at all.
So even if they are tricky[not sure they are], I wouldnt hesitate to still get one, personally. Assuming you do a bit of printing.
