EBay help needed

Well I ve had less problem with them than Royal Mail so
I ll give it a go Lemsip there doesn’t seem much to choose between them now They ve (RM) have still got my grandaughters 21 st birthday present and card I sent with tracking beginning of March

Oh don't use Evrie whatever you do. very bad reviews on facebook. My large parcel was delivered a street away at 6pm when they emailed me saying delivered at 3.35pm. had to go get my heavy parcel myself after I was told where it was.

I posted to the address eBay told me to post to oopsadaisy
And
Today I ve had a message to say it’s been delivered…. 14 days to go from Suffolk to London with Royal Mail !!!

I think you might have been scammed ? First rule of EBay is ‘ always post to the buyers profile address, not an address anywhere else.

You will have to make a refund I’m afraid.

I simple try and help by grandkids with a bit of pocket money by selling their ‘hardly worn’ cast offs it gave me something to do and helped them but I ll go back to marketplace

All buyers have a 100% profile unless they also sell on the same ID. Ebay abolished seller feedback that is negative or neutral some time ago. A poor move in my opinion. There are a lot of scammers on Ebay (and other platforms) and sellers should be able to warn others about them.

You can however block them so they can never buy from you again. I automatically block any buyer who raises a dispute without first contacting me.

If you have a side hustle and sell regularly in Ebay it may be to your advantage to fill out a self-assessment tax return online. All your fees such as postage, Ebay and Paypal fees, packaging supplies etc are then legitimate business expenses and tax deductable. If you make a tax loss you can use it against other taxable income such as a wage or pension.

Oh no I m not a business seller just an ordinary Joe Soap trying to get my grandkids some money for their clothes and shoes bought and used little 🤷🏼‍♂️
The only reason I haven’t used tracking was as RM prices go up and up I was trying to keep the price down for the buyer making it more attractive
Learnt my lesson now I guess and he might even have the darned parcel for all I know I can’t prove it one way or other can I ?

Ive sold on Ebay for 20 years. I send everything tracked. The buyer pays.

If you dont have a valid tracking number Ebay will automatically find for the buyer in a dispute so your best plan would be to take the option to refund them. If you are a bsuiness seller and registered for tax you just write it off as a business expense - which it is.

I ll use the Evri tracked in future that is much cheaper than RM tracked

Ten years I ve been using eBay never had it happen before
Thankfully it’s not a huge amount but any amount is more than enough 😢

When I've wanted to speak to a person I've gone to help & contact, at the bottom of the page if I remember correctly.
I went through the motions of speaking to a robot. It asked my question, I replied. It asked again and I replied again. When it got fed up it asked if I'd like to speak to an agent. I clicked yes. Was advised call back would be in 2 minutes. And so it was.
I've used this service several times and the agent has always been most helpful.

BlueBelle you don't pay for the call, I've found them extremely helpful when I've needed information or support but if you don't use a tracked service (whichever company you use ) you have no recourse if a parcel goes astray. As Theexwife says, you will have to refund the buyer. It's only happened to me once, fortunately for only a small item, but a sharp lesson to learn.

My grandaughter recently put in a Royal Mail claim for a lost parcel worth £40 and she got 8 stamps back from them !!!
I will never use RM again I ll try a carrier

If I can just elaborate the gentleman bought the goods on the Saturday paid on the Sunday I posted Monday at the post office He then messaged me the next day Tuesday to say ‘when will they arrive? I explained they had been sent and sent a photo of the PO receipt
Ten days later he said they still haven’t arrived and set a complaint against me in motion
I looked on his profile it was 100% good
He is registered to a town in northern England but the goods were sent to the address given which was a flat in a block in London
I ve tried to get in touch with eBay but can only get a robot and went around in circles including sending me to a page that’s said ‘sorry this is not available at the moment’
I m really going round in circles

Then claim

You have to refund the buyer and them claim against the post office.

I did that Calipso as I said and it gave a USA number as ringing me back but I didn’t dare continue in case I was paying for the call
I won’t be using Royal Mail Calipso again they ve never even bothered to find the parcel to my grandaughter that I paid £12.95 to have it tracked which made no difference at all they still haven’t tracked it or answered my complaint

Go to your Ebay home page and click on 'Help & Contact' at the top. Scroll to the bottom of the page where you have the option to speak to an agent. They have always contacted me very quickly if I have a problem.
But in future, ALWAYS use a tracked service

Yes winterwhite I asked the robot and it gave me a USA number I darent ring in case I was charged
Yes Notspagetti i have put the ref number from the receipt in but it doesn’t recognise it as it’s not a tracking number !!!!
I just need some proper help from a real person 🙏

Have you put the number from the postal receipt into post office tracking?

Have you tried saying to the robot chat thing I need to speak to a real person. I did that once and a message came back asking for a number to ring, and then someone rang within 2 mins.
