Smart TV apps and icons

Anyone else had problems with Smart TV apps/icons disappearing?

We noticed something different about our TV a couple of weeks ago but couldn't fathom out what it was, today we realised some of the opening page icons were gone and some of the apps had disappeared. We fiddled around with it and then did a reset but in the end OH phoned Samsung.
Would you believe that apparently some of the apps/icons are expired and no longer available on our model.. OH is going to speak to the shop where we bought it as it was sold with these apps/icons which are no longer usable. I bet it will say it somewhere in there t & c that they can change things if and when they want angry.. OH is spitting feathers...

What has disappeared? I bought an LG smart tv only to find I can't get itv player on it. I had to buy another one recently which does have it but now I wonder if it might vanish?

Its the icons on the 'HUB' page that we really miss but apparently the owner of any app can remove the apps of they so wish , some smart tvs have lost their iplayer, utube, netflix etc it just depends on your set and you have no control over it.
Its most annoying as you are under the impression that whats there when you buy it will stay but its not so.

I have all the Catch Up stations on my IPad and now tend to watch a lot of tv via the IPad instead of the tv.

My DH rarely watches the tv so I can happily watch what I want in bed on the IPad with earphones in so as not to disturb him.

I so use my ipad too NanKate but OH likes the tv for sport and we often curl up to watch a film on tv together so its very annoying to lose some of those apps or catchup channels.
