What’s the procedure called please?

I call them 'Ventriloquist's dummy mouth' and that's what I've got. I haven't got the wherewithal to pay for treatments, fillers etc so just have to put up with it, but sometimes people will say 'Don't look so miserable' I'm not, it's just my resting face !

I’ve had mine filled a couple of times over about the last maybe 10 years. Lasted well and I’m happy with the result. I’ll have it done if needed one more time then I’ll be too old to bother after that .

Never heard of these lines.

foxie48 Thank you for your post, really interesting, having now read much more about skin fillers, I am thinking about exploring that further but not for the Marrionettes, still not sure what to do however I agree re foundation, I dont use often or much anyway, never happy with the finished look. I am chasing the natural, healthy look but those b****y lines are my biggest problem. Thank you and I think looking good and having pride in that has good all round benefits including confidence and wellbeing.

Foxtail I would find a really good beauty clinic that employs properly trained practioners and ask for a consultation. tbh Personal recommendation is what I prefer from someone I know and trust. I'm 77 and generally my skin tone is very good, I don't have deep marionette lines and I wouldn't consider surgical procedures or anything too invasive or permanent. I have skin boosters every six months, they are injections under the skin of hyaluronic acid. It's a bit uncomfortable but really quite effective. Basically they attract moisture reducing fine lines and generally plumping the skin. The effect is subtle but significant and I am constantly being told how good my skin is (for my age!) I have no problem in anyone having a pop at me for being vain, I am vain, I like to look my best and I'm fortunate to have the cash to spend on myself and I do! I don't think they would make a big difference to deep marionette lines, I think you'd need botox to relax the muscles at the corner of the mouth and some filler in the actual lines, personally not for me but it might be for you. I go to someone I trust completely who has had extensive training, so if you do decide to have a consultation check their qualifications and if they have reviews go through them carefully. The other thing I'd recommend is keeping foundation (if you use it) to an absolute minimum in the areas where you have the most lines and use the lightest weight/coverage that you can elsewhere as when it settles into lines it makes them more obvious. I've found the skin boosters have really improved my skin tone so nowadays I can get away with very little coverage. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Each to their own, but as far as I am concerned, what you see is what you get. I have never wanted to have any sort of treatment or operation to change how I am, perhaps I am lucky my skin is quite good, but I dont look in the mirrors much . I prefer to spend what money I can save on things like concerts or outings, and dont worry too much so long as I am clean

I'd like to give pick this up if possible...I have this problem, I have noticed it is slightly improved when I am a bit lighter, though think muscle decline moght stop that eventually.

Has anybody actually had any improvement to their Marrionette lines? If so what did you do?

Have a look at skin boosters they might suit you better than fillers or botox.

Fallingstar they are the lines from your lips to your chin. I think it’s to do with puppets faces.

Your 11s are between your eyebrows. Marionette lines are from the nose down to the corners of the mouth.

Do you mean what we call the elevenses
If you do decide to have work done: do your homework.

fill them in with Vaseline and sleep on your back
in our family they are hereditary sadly
apparently when I smile or laugh they disappear
when I believed this was causing them
I considered botox but the thought of limited facial
muscle control causing dribbling put me off
