New trend in face packs

The ones in the sachets that I usually use are creams which don't go hard. You just remove any that's left with a tissue or rub it in after the 15-20 minutes you have left it on.

How do you manage with those slimy cold bits of cloth? I can't unfold them easily, (takes ages) then I find it impossible to place them so that the holes fit exactly over my eyes and when I do finally get them in place, they start to slither down. And the other hole is often not in line with my lips, so some of it goes in my mouth. What do you do with the gunge that is left in the packet? You can't rub it on your face because that is already covered.
And then there's the coldness - can you warm them at least before applying?

The serum that’s left in the pack gets rubbed over my neck and chest, or décolletage if you want to be posh.

The little sachets that are most available here are German brands and often the chemists' own brands. I go for anti-aging or anti-wrinkle. There is a huge choice.I

At the moment I am using a powder that you mix withnwater. It swells up to a gel. That's quite cold, too, because it says to use cool water.

I do it in the bath, too Georgesgran. I use a cleanser or a facial scrub, rinse off thoroughly, then hold a flannel with hottish water to my face to open the pores, then apply the cream. I have always done the "opening the pores" thing - I think I read it in a magazine when I was a teenager. And beauticians always waft steam on your face to prepare it, too.

(We have a bath once a week so the bathtub gets cleaned!)

Oh yes - the egg white one. My Gran used to just wipe out the eggshells when baking and put it on her face.

My Granny used to make one with oats and egg white. I tried it once. It made my face seem 'tighter'. Not sure how else to describe it. Also very soft once washed off.

My daughter and I used to have pamper night with the little sachets that set and peel off. I think I might just try them again to get rid of the winter blues.

I tend not to use them any more but years ago I always had Fullers Earth. You got it in a little cardboard drum and made it in to a paste with water.

Can’t say I’ve had any problems JackyB but if it’s a full face mask I use it when I have a bath. As mine are always moisturizing, I rub the leftover ‘gunge’ on my face the following morning.

I do like a face pack once a week - have used one pretty much since my teens so been using them 40 plus years!

Have used all sorts but my favourite are the fresh ones from Lush. They aren't cheap at £10 a pot but I get 4 uses so not tooo bad I suppose.

If you are talking of what I think you are, Superdrug do face packs for something like 95p a sachet. Several different "flavours" to choose from.

I don’t use face packs but I received a mask-type one as a freebie. I agree with Georgesgran, it was very pleasant and much better than having to rinse off the hardened old style ones which I used years ago. I wish someone would give me another freebie!

I’m certainly not an aficionado of face packs, but I have used both and much prefer the newer masks with holes to the old fashioned ones, which hardened and had to be rinsed off. Once the time has passed, it’s just discard the mask and rub any residue left into the skin - simples.
