Are you a jacket person?

I wore tailored jackets for work, but hardly ever now. I have a couple in the wardrobe if required. Just recently I needed a light jacket to go over a short sleeved dress ( nobody needs to see my upper arms!) and pulled out a soft light loose jacket, almost like a blouse, which I have had for years. It was admired by several people! Worth keeping.

Vogue is full of Autumnal jackets, so I don’t think they’re going out of fashion. The navel blazer with gold buttons, perhaps.

Good oh! I love jackets. I’ve picked up some lovely ones from charity shops that I would not have been able to afford when they were new.

I'm with you merlotgran , I love jackets of all sorts - linen, denim, leather. Instant uplift of outfit for me.

Love jackets... Have a few I agree they uplift your clothes. I go for bright colours. The normal Denim, one in a Silver fabric, and I have fabulous one in Cream with Big green flowers, sound horrid but a statement, plus the obligatory Black sequin jacket. Believe it or not they all go with jeans or dresses. So if anyone see one please let me know. Thanks.

I'm on the look out for a Tan suede blazer type jacket, Jaeger had one in M&S earlier this year but I couldn't get it in my size, sold out by the time I saw it.

I find coats too suffocating.

I have a light brown faux suede biker style jacket - very soft material - which I find I wear a lot. It goes with midi dresses, jeans and tunics. Bit like this one -

Love jackets and jerkins and own them in many styles and colours. Should add that most of them are around twenty years old which indicates how much of a follower of fashion I am. As long as the feel good factor exists I'll be wearing them....

If they fit ok in the body the sleeves are too long and vice versa, and as they are mostly rather expensive I’d rather not incur the extra cost of having the sleeves altered. It’s become a bit of a holy grail.

I’m a jacket person, but for the time being I’m loving gilets and waistcoats for a change. The last time they were fashionable was in the seventies, so it’s been a long time coming.

Yes I did, LucyAnna but I didn’t like the “patchwork” look or that shape of lapel. More of a hacking jacket but not as fitted in the body.

No I am not a jacket person either although I have very casual Uniqlo one in black jersey which is more casual.

I do like a jacket- linen or cotton shackets and/or blazers in summer, the inevitable denim jacket (3 of those, blue, pink and white) a couple of faux suede bikers in winter also a lovely big fluffy shacket last year from White Stuff.
I have far too many but hardly ever wear a full length coat (except for dog walking) because they are too warm and restrictive in the car or in shops.

I like jackets blazers over Tshirts with jeans. I often interface with our accountant and solicitor or submit work bids. I need to look decent, throwing on a jacket accomplishes my goals.

I'm always hopeful jackets help mask my figure flaws.

I love long coats for dog walks in winter, gilets, puffers.

I am very much a jacket person: 2 unstructured thigh length soft corduroy jackets - one gold, one rust, both with matching baggy trsrs; one orange felted short jacket; one denim, embroidered with large flowers; one grey speckled shorty jacket which my GD admired when she was only 6 year old!; one thigh length blue, white and black, patterned knitted jacket with large pansies round the hem.... I could go on....but, in my defense - I do live in the North Isles....

I have been wearing a casual denim jacket today. I wore jackets a lot at work because I always wore suits.

Now I am retired, generally I prefer a sweater to a jacket, but as long as it keeps me warm and is easy to wear, I will wear anything that keeps me warm.

I love to wear a smart jacket I have several colours and think they really make an outfit more classy .

I've just bought a beautiful navy jacket from Bella di Notte. It's perfect for this time of year and also the spring.

Since I retired, I have bought and worn just one jacket - to wear to DS's second wedding. Four years later it's languishing in my wardrobe. In a previous life, I had a selection of jackets in different colours, for attending meetings and chairing some of them.

I am rather a sack-of-potatoes shape and always slip a jacket over a red shirt or a top to hide the Michelin man look. While the weather is warm I wear a sleeveless top with a light cotton or linen short sleeved blouse over the top.

I used to think jackets in jersey materials looked awful, but I have a couple now which I wear the rest of the year. They are light and comfortable and don't look too formal and at a certain distance you can't even see that they aren't "proper" jackets .

I definitely always have to have something loose disguising my shape.
