Slippers

Fit Flop slippers, a proper sole, I’m always nipping into the garden in mine.
Expensive but worth every penny.

I discovered these from Landsend several decades ago and hope they'll never be discontinued! Light, warm and robust with soles you can wear outside; they seem expensive but they do last for years - about five to six years, I find.

Great ideas, I am making my way through them, keep 'em coming.

I gave up on slippers and (following orthopaedic advice) nowadays I wear a pair of (slip-on) shoes which I keep solely for this purpose. (No pun intended.) They are more supportive and "robust" than more traditional slippers, and I find them better for my feet. (There are lots of pretty slip-on shoes available: mine are from Hotter.)

Another vote for Moshulu slippers. They’re bright and comfortable but not grannyish at all.
They do various styles. I always go for those with an elasticated strap over the top.
I didn’t know they were washable; I might try that!

Asda has a sale - I got a pair for £5 (moccasin style) and guess what, one is slightly larger than the other. Or my left foot has shrunk😂you only get what you pay for.

Skechers slippers, they have a proper sole and all the comfort of Skechers shoes, but soft and cosy.

They are also washable

Another vote for moshilu slippers here. Mine are the shape of Ug boots. They have a good sole for nipping out into the garden although I swap them for crocs if I’m going onto the grass etc.

I love my slippers but when I was working at a healthcare charity, the advice was to buy a pair of indoor shoes instead. Slippers are responsible for a high number of slips, trips and falls.

I wear Haflinger felt slippers. Extremely hard wearing and comfortable.

Celtic make lovely sheepskin slippers with robust soles. I’ve had some of their house boots for several years now - can also wear them outside. They can go in the washing machine too.
All their slippers are made in Cornwall, many from U.K. sheepskins.

Love my slippers! Super toasty. Don't like slip-ons though because I've got really slim feet and they fall off, especially on stairs. Also have to have a solid sole because I wear them all the time and nip outside in them sometimes as well.

I find Vionic slippers with arch support are very comfortable and give some relief from back pain.

I love some of these slipper ideas but don't really like the idea of wearing them outside - I have some slip-on fit-flops for nipping out to the washing line - demoted from regular "outdoor shoes" but still in "good enough" condition.

My current slippers are also fit-flops but shock horror are wool felt clogs so not recommended for people who may trip. I only wear them in cold weather as, like someone above, my feet are generally on the warm side.

Mine are slippers, but more like a type of Ugg boot style with a proper sole, so they're definitely not dangerous in any way.

That’s what I wear. They are warm, smart and comfortable. They fit well, so I don’t think they are dangerous. Uggs were designed as slippers, not to be worn as outdoor boots, and are perfect for the purpose.

Looks like you can pay all sorts of prices. I've just bought a pair from M&S. They cost about £20 and are cosy. I also keep crocs by the back door.

Skechers and Hotter have nice thick soles and don't slop off so that you trip over. Great for nipping out to the garden too!

Moshula are brilliant. I’d never buy anything else now and they last for ages. Have a look at their website.
